Thanks. I now stand corrected. That means that Simba's Pride was wrong: in the beginning of "We Are One", Simba purrs when he rubs his head on Kiara. They most likely used audio from a house cat for that.

Yes, definately. That has always annoyed me. You see, lions and tigers can make a slight purring sound when they exhale, like a very quiet growl, but the purrs used in both TLK films are obviously recordings of a house cat. Not only do they do this when, as you said, Kiara and Simba have a bonding moment, but it is also done when Nala and Simba meet.
I'm glad I cleared that up for you :) I studied domestic animals and my tutor made it very clear that cheetahs and domestic cats are the only cats that purr.
