[Open] Ahadi and Uru's Reign

Harufu's smiled dropped to a frown. "So far, no he's not okay." she said, with a worrying tone in her voice. "He hasn't been acting like himself, and he's sleeping a lot more often."

Mohatu lifted his head and chuckled gruffly. "I'm fine," he protested in a rumble. But it was not the case. The past few days, the former King had been confined the the den as his limbs grew weaker.

Ahadi nodded. "Perhaps having a fresh kill will help him a bit. I wish you, Uru and the other lionesses the best of luck. Be safe," he told her. He then looked at his father. "Well, Father, the lands are doing well. You can't even tell that the drought happened," he said.

Mohatu shook his head. "Leave the kill for the cubs, it would be no use keeping me alive much longer. My Circle of Life is complete, and I am ready to join my father in the night sky." He smiled softly at his son, trying to get him to understand.

Ahadi's shining emerald eyes went wide. "But Father, I still have so much to learn. You can't die yet," he said as if those words could keep his father alive forever. He sighed. "Father, Uru and I have forgiven you for trying to keep us apart," he said.

Tears formed in the elderly lion's eyes. "You have no idea how much your forgiveness means to me," he said quietly. "Thank you, Ahadi."

Ahadi gave a slight smile. "Now that it's all past, I can understand why you did it. For all we knew, she could have been loyal to her father. I'm glad she wasn't," he said.

[Nitro]

Mohatu nodded slightly, wincing as the simple action weakened and pained him. "I am glad too, for your sake." He coughed, a rumbling deep in his chest, before laying his head back down. "I am fading..."

Ahadi became panicked. "Father..." he said. His panic rose even more. He looked around and saw that the lionesses had left, except for two that had stayed behind to babysit the cubs. Ahadi watched his father prepare to join the great kings and queens of the past.

Mohatu grunted soflty. "I meant my strength, son." Indeed, he was dying but he felt he could hold on for just a while longer, to see his grandcubs be born.
