Lion King 4 Petition
mmm, true, but how many signatures were there when disney made the new Bambi movie? Probably zero, and they did it anyway. All these signatures just shows that TLK means more to the movie-going community than the average film.
While that is true as well there are still two problems. The people who are currently running Disney will only make a sequel if it's worthy of going to theaters, which means no direct to dvd. Bambi 2 was a direct to dvd movie and like most of them were made because they knew they could make more money, emphasis on 'money', it was partly money and partly for fans. So if they make another one it can only be a big one that could make it into theaters.

Next the fact that drawn/animated Disney movies only have up to 3 sequels, Little Mermaid and Cinderella for example.

Now don't get me wrong I would love another lion king but the fact of the matter is it more than likely WON'T happen. But if they did this is what the advertisements would be:

Lion King 2 1/2: Did you ever wonder where Timon and Pumba were the whole time, cause we thought we should do the same thing again.

Lion King 3: Kovu and Kiara have cubs and guess what? We kicked out more characters! Yup just like what we did to Sarabi, Sarafina, and the Hyenas with 2 we kicked out more characters, we hope you won't miss Zazu, Rafiki, and Vitani cause they're not here! Oh and not only that but also because Simba and Nala are getting old we decided when the cubs grow up WE KILL BOTH OF THEM!!!!

The past is a gaping hole. You try to run from it, but the more you run, the deeper it grows behind you, its edges yawning at your heels. Your only chance is to turn around and face it. But it's like looking down into the grave of your love, or kissing the mouth of a gun, a bullet trembling in its dark nest, ready to blow your head off.

All they need to do to solve problem number two is disown TLK11/2 lol. And of course they'd have to get rid of the old generations, happens in every sequel. Lady and the tramp, secret of nihm and so on. But there are still other options. A story focusing on Scar and Mufasa for example, that wouldn't even have to deal with Timon or Pumbaa at all.

When did disney stop with the direct-to-video/dvd stuff? I know why (money) but what was the event that lead up to it do you know?

The new people who run Disney (who founded Pixar) Hated sequels and the president made a baaad sequel which was 'Tinkerbell' so he got fired and the guys from Pixar moved in and since they hate dtd sequels they made it so Disney would stop making them.

As for the TLK sequel it has been discussed of doing a back story to Muffy and Scar (on here anyways) so that could work. But Timon and Pumba aren't the problem, everyone likes them (well most of the fans do), and one of the best things about TLK was the original cast. If they kicked Simba and Nala off the band wagon Dinsey would have hate mail flooding the hallways.

And 1 1/2 kicked A$$!

Well u have to think, the new bambi movie, was to clarify what happen to bambi after his mother died, and fill in that huge time gap between the first movie when he finally grows up. The lion king 1 1/2 was the same as the bambi two movie, but now they have nothing left to go on.
Darn Darn Darn, you told me the end of Bambi when I wanted to watch it! Why did I read? Lol.

Anyway, hope is looking bleak....

Don't worry that isn't the end of Bambi, just an important part in the middle.
