[First RP post. Sorry it sucks D: ] :

The morning sun rose above the horizon, coating the barren land in a beautiful golden glow. A small prise of few members slowly began to stir as their night faded away. A dark pelted lionesses emerald optics flickered open, and the female slowly lifted her head, her two cubs still asleep in her paws. She contemplated waking them, but peaceful sleep was a blessing. There was little food left for any members of the Pride, and almost everyone was starving. Jiirani was weak, most - if not all - of her food had been given to the cubs. They were her everything, and deserved to live out the life they had, even if she wasn't in it at the end of the day.

"We need a miricle..."

She sighed, wearily gazing at the small Pride, silently wishing that everything could return to what it once was. Images of the rest of the Pride - Those who had either died or fled, but she didn't know which - flashed through her tired mind.

Little did she know, help was on it's way, in a very unexpected body. The small figure of a young cubs travelled in the direction of the remaining members of the Anzu Pride, walking as if he was in a daze. He couldn't recall anything about where he was going, or why he had set out on this journey. It was as if his mind had shut him out as it went about it's buisness, walking in a mechanical manner. A small tuft of brown fur showed his mane was coming in, but it was obvious that he was still very young, and shouldn't have even left home. There were dangerous beings in the wild, some he had never even heard of, and the longer he walked, the more tired he became.

[Quick question: Has Mohatu just left, has the Pridelands realized he's gone, or should one wake up and be like, "Where's Mohatu?" and everything? Thanks. ]

[Yeah, I'm pretty sure he left a little while before they woke up. So that would probably be the typical reaction. I'll try and be more clear in the future xD;;;]

[Oks thanks. I'll begin too, shall I?]

Uru shifted, poking a sharp stone in the process. Immediately her eyes opened, and she yawned widely. Something was missing. Uru looked around, and spotted the problem. Her stomach clenched. Mohatu was gone. Uru gasped, and stood up. His scent was stale, and it led out of the cave. Uru hoped he had only gone off to play. Gently, she nudged the lion besid her, Asani. "Wake up. Mohatu's missing."

Jioni woke with a sharp pain in his belly. He realized it was hunger. Stiffly the young lion twisted around and licked his side, sighing in despair. He gazed around at his tiny Pride, and felt desperatly fearful for the remaining members. Jioni spotted Jiranii looking around the Pride, her eyes glazed with hunger. He shakily rose to a sitting position, blinking in the sunlight, that for so long, had been a warm welcome to each day. Now the heat intensified the pain.

Jiirani barely noticed Jioni waking up, her mind was elsewhere. The burning sunlight was almost too much to bare. She tried to focus, gazing down at her cubs. She wanted to get up, to see if everyone was OK and try to catch some form of food, but she couldn't leave Issa and Relena on their own. She flicked an ear, gazing around briefly, finally noticing the young male was awake.

"Jioni... How are you holding up...? How are we for food?"

She whispered, her voice weak and broken, trying to avoid waking anyone who was still asleep. Her brow was furrowed in worry. They were running out of time. If anything, they needed a place to get out of the sun.

Mohatu was oblivious to his parents worry. In fact, he was unaware of his current location. Dark eyes flickered as his mind battled with whatever it was that was holding him. Something was calling to him, and pulling him closer to whatever it was he was seeking. His teeth were gritted, but the power controlling him tugged more than before, and he slackened, giving up once again.

Though, in the Pridelands, Uchawi was waking also. The old, dark pelted lioness stretched and yawned loudly, scraching at her belly and sighing happily, oblivious to the actions of those around her. She rose to her paws slowly, glancing around her to see how many others were awake.

[So, what are the relationships between the characters in the Anza Pride? All friends, all enemies, all neutral, what?]

Aria woke, grumpy. She really wasn't sure why she was grumpy, but she was. She rose to her feet, but swayed and fell back down. It will be a bad day indeed, she thought. She got up again and went hunting. Her eyes fell on a small zebra, a newborn perhaps. It was looking the other way, and nothing seemed to be protecting it, so she made her move. The zebra squealed, and ran toward it's mother. The mother saw it's fear, and then Aria, and ran. The whole herd ran off, leaving Aria unhappy. And still believing that it was a bad day.

Asani awoke by the lovely sound of Uru's voice, but it wasn't happy news. Mohatu was missing. His eyes shot open and his pupils were small. Instantly the lion was on his feet and rushing to the edge of PrideRock. "MOHATU?" He roared, echoing through the trees. Asani kept yelling and yelling Mohatu's name. The tears fell from his eyes like waterfalls. Cheeks covered in damp fur.

Turning to Uru his eyes closed. "He's gone." He whispered, dropping his head in failure. "I've failed my family." He whispered to himself, then to look at the blue-ish grey sky. "Please find him, keep him safe." He yelled at the sky, hoping someone would hear his pleads.

--

Issa awoke hearing the voice of Jiirani. He groaned, opening his eyes to see the two lions. "Good morning." He moaned, glaring at the two. His eyes blood-shot from lack of sleep.

(OOC: Sorry it's short. It's 11pm here and my mom is gonna kill me D:)

Uru pressed herself against her mate, while tears dripped down her face. "He'll come back." She murmured. "We must believe or everything will be lost." The sky was lightening, and Uru could hardly stand watching the sun rising, bringing with it the reality of Mohatu's disappearance. She looked around at the sound of pawsteps; Uchawi was plodding towards them, expression grim. Uru gave her a look of sheer despair, and turned to look over the Pridelands again. The herds were up and grazing. Uru could see the zebra foals playing--how could their be fun and joy when her son was gone?

Jioni sighed shakily. "I-I'm not sure." He replied to Jiirani. At Issa's voice he nodded towards the cub. Jioni gazed around his companions again, feeling horrible. There was no happiness left, only the will to survive. Jioni scanned the plains, searching for shelter. In the distance, there seemed to be a forest. But it was far--probably too far for the cubs and elderly. Jioni gritted his teeth in anger at the world. "There's trees over there...." Jioni wondered why he had mentioned this, it wasn't like they could start moving. As his stomach snarled again, he started to pad away, calling over his shoulder: "I'm going hunting...well at least I'm gonna see if I can find food first."

[I'd go with they get along well enough, just go with what you feel is right x3]

Uchawi was startled at Asani's roar, suddenly aware of the situation. She blinked her one eye and rushed outside, scanning the area also. Mohatu had been there the night before, hadn't he? Uchawi gulped, fearing for the young prince. "When did he leave?" The old lioness sighed, turned to leave the King and Queen at peace, they probably wanted to be alone. She headed into the cave, looking for Jato. He probably had no clue what was going on, but there was a chance he noticed his brother leaving.

Jiirani sighed sadly, it was becoming such a struggle to be optimistic recently. "I hope everyones alright, I can't bare to lose anyone else..." When Issa awoke she smiled down at her son softly, though she wasn't in much of a mood to do so. She licked the top of his head lovingly. "Good morning my son. Did you sleep well?" She questioned, although she doubted he would have, as he looked more tired than ever. Jiirani turned back to Jioni, spotting the trees he pointed out. She sighed, it was much too far away. She noticed Aria leaving, probably to hunt herself, and then Jioni followed. Jiirani nodded, feeling useless because she couldn't help either of them. "Good luck Jioni, be careful!" She called out watching him leave sadly.

Issa smiled, "Like a baby!" He laughed, then sitting up and licking his grey-ish white paw. His brown hair tuft awkwardly got into his eyes and mouth at some points. While his little brown beard dripped with saliva. Green eyes looking up at his mother, "What's for breakfast?" He asked, with a frown on his face. Knowing there probably won't be much food. Stomach growling from lack of taste, his ribs where starting to stick out of his fur. The pride he lived in had less food, and the only water wasn't very clean at all.

Looking at his mother, he noticed she was more bone-y. She gives almost all her food to her cubs, Him and Relena. His sister, still fast asleep. Just about as bone-y as he was. The land he and the pride lived in, was old. Very old, and no animals other then the odd zebra walks through. Issa dreams every night of a land, many animals and plenty of great water! The only thing is, the land is already inhabited.

---

Asani set his mind to believing his strong son was still out there. Alive as ever. The possibilities of him dead were 50/50. No one knew where he was, only the stars and suns in the sky. His head remained so close to Uru. "Oh my sweet. Where do you think he could have run off to?" He asked, cheeks still damp. Only could he wish, someone would help him find Mohatu. Many lands surrounded the PrideLands, and many lands after those lands. Also, dangerous animals could attack the poor cub.
