Delano slowly woke up, his head feeling rather heavy. He wondered why when he realized that it was because Tempesta was resting on him. He heard her whispering to him, but couldn't make it our over the noise of a storm raging outside. He lifted his head slowly to signal her that he was awake. She got off his head and he stood up slowly. He yawned and stretched before looking outside. "That's quite a storm outside." he commented. "And you know what that means," he told Tempesta, smiling. "Story time!"

The two of them headed over to the gathering den, and discovered Mheetu ad Marrone already inside. "How's your night been, Mheetu?" Delano asked. "Got any sleep with the storm outside?" He asked. Delano imagined that Mheetu had a horrible night. If the previous day's drizzle made him feel bad, this storm... He wondered how long Mheetu will last without sleep. Unless, of course, he actually managed to sleep.

Vitani awoke with a smile spread across her face. Her dream was consistent of Mheetu and the lovely flowers they found when they went for a walk. Laughing, she stretched her legs and arms and yawned. She exited her den and got soaked from the rain. Her smiled turned into a frown quickly as she sprinted to he den she saw Mheetu at.

Entering the den, she shook her fur and tuft out. Attempting to get Mheetu wet. "Hello Marrone, Mheetu, Delano, Temp! How did you sleep?" She asked, turning her head sideways.

Tempesta smiled as they stepped through the rain and into the den, she shook off her wet body and laid on the right side of Mheetu. Watching Delano join her side she groomed her face a moment before looking back to the group. She bowed her head to Marrone and looked to Vitani, "I slept like a cub that was out playing all day." she said with a soft smile.

Mheetu sat up when Vitani entered the den and he smiled slightly, his furry ears twitched forward at Delano's words. "Well I was actually so tired, I passed out." he said with a chuckle. "Being on the verge of exhaustion helps me sleep better in this rainy place." he said softly. He then repositioned himself to his belly and he looked to Vitani, "How are you doing this morning Tani?" he asked watching her shake her water off. He felt the droplets hit his body and he wiped them off with his paw, "Aww...come on you know how I hate rain." he protested towards her.

Marrone laughed at Mheetu, "Well Mheetu it wont be getting any dryer anytime soon." he spoke looking out into rain. "But this storm did come early, so maybe the rainy season will finish early this year. For the crowning ceremony and the Marriage of Delano and Tempesta." he said with a grin. Both ceremonies bringing him joy. "While we wait for the others, who wants to start today? Anyone have any good stories?" he asked looking around his Pride.

Delano chuckled when Vitani got Mheetu wet again. "Well, on the bright side, Mheetu," Delano commented, "The rain can't get much harder. If you can survive through today' rain, you can live through the season." Hes searched for a story to share with the others. He wasn't able to find any except for one. Mheetu and Vitani might like it, but it was old news for the others.

"I've got a story for you," he decided to say. He looked at Mheetu and Vitani. "The two of you don't know about it, but for the rest of us, we already know it, but might as well..." He cleared his throat. "As you have noticed, all the dens are slightly higher up than the ground surrounding them, so that when the lake floods over, the dens remain dry. Well, it was during my first rainy season, when I was still a cub, it was few days into a very heavy storm, roughly the same as it is now..." Delano laughed at the memory. "I woke up one morning and left my family's den. As soon as I left the den, my feet slipped on the wet mud, and I fell into,the biggest lake I had ever seen."

Delano smiled at the memory. "Everything was flooded over! I had never seen anything like it!" he said. "And if I recall correctly, Marrone then had to go and get me out of the water. That was a source for quite some teasing afterwards. I know Tempesta brought it up. A lot."

Addana chuckled as she gracefully strolled into the den. Her eyes twinkled with good humor. "Much the same thing happened to me, though it was not as much as an accident. I had misjudged the size of the pond and ended up a good few feet under land."

Vitani smiled, "At least it's not an entire storm falling on you!" She winked. Sitting beside Mheetu, Delano told his story. "A flood! I'm glad the den are on high grounds!" She said gasping, looking at Delano and picturing him as a cub, falling into the water and floating away. "It's lucky Marrone caught you!" She added, looking at the lovely couple, Temp and Delano.

Though her kind was strong, her heart couldn't just picture her and Nyembe together. Instead, it pictured her and Mheetu together. Shaking her head out, she started listening again to the stories being told throughout.

Maximus woke up beside Zwua. Himili behind him. He woke Zuwa with a slight lick, and turned around to wrap his arms around his mate. "Wake up sleepy head." He laughed, "It's a really stormy day out, and that means story day!" Maxi said excitedly, getting up on his paws and grabbing Zuwa scruff. "Let's go." He quickly said, running out of the den, with Himili close behind him.

Running into the crystal den with Zuwa in his mouth, he shook his mane out and put Zuwa on the ground and let him shake himself out. Only to look at the lions already here. "Hey everyone! Are we late?" Maximus chuckled, sitting in the large circle of lions.

"Oh, dad," he moaned. He firmly promised himself he wouldn't get up, despite it being story day. But he was whisked off, his eyes still closed.

Alma awoke and walked out of the den, the soggy ground made her paws sink in a little the mud and rocks hugged her paws she drudged through the mud and into the gathering cave she saw Marrone and the young lion Mheetu she soon got to Marrones side and nuzzled his thick mane that rested on his back and most of his shoulders

Marrone chuckled at Delano and Addana's stories, "I remember all your cub hoods very well. I got to watch you all grow up." he said with a smile. He greeted Alma with a nuzzle back and smiled to Maximus, "No just in time for some good stories....Well Mheetu do you have any?" he asked curiously looking down at the young lion who seemed to be dreaming.

Tempesta laughed at Delano's story, "I picked on you for weeks about that.." she whispered with a smile. She cuddled closer to Delano, "It is good that our dens are higher above ground. But if the water would ever flood in we'd have to head up to the waterfall area, where the 'morning flower' blooms. But thats ONLY in a really bad flood. It never gets any higher then the entrance to some dens, sometimes. " she said softly to Vitani. Her turqouise eyes fell on the day dreaming Mheetu and she nudged him with her paw, "Hey, tell us a story of your Pride. Whats it like..?" she added to Marrone's request.

Mheetu snapped back to reality and looked to the Pride, they were all staring at him. His light tan ears twitched at Tempesta's words and he smiled thinking of home. "Alright...Alright...Well I can only really describe it to you. I can describe my family aswell..." he said beginning his story softly. "The Pridelands to me well;They're just peaceful and quiet, the only noise is from the offspring that got life that Spring. The savanna is lush and green and the water is blue and cold and after a long run it seems to quench your thirst perfectly. To me the Pride lands are the perfect blend for a lion, we don't have too much rain. But we enjoy the beautiful sun and the chilly breeze. The animals all get along and they all participate in the circle of life. They know their place and when the King stands on Pride rock, they bow. They bow because they know hes King and was given the responsibility to rule and keep peace." Mheetu thought for a moment before continuing, "My family well they are all great. I miss my big sister Nala, whos Queen of the Pride lands and I miss Simba. He was funny and made everyone smile, hes a great King. I miss their cubs most of all and how I didn't see them grow." he said in a sour tone. Mheetu felt his heart break as he had a battle inside himself, why did he choose to leave?

"Why did you leave...?" Tempesta asked softly looking to the sad lion.

Mheetu looked over at Tempesta and smiled, "I had to do something for myself, I couldn't be the Queen's little brother anymore. But I'm finally starting to realize a few things. Your Pride has been very good to me Marrone." he said looking to the King.

Marrone nodded, "Your very welcome Mheetu.." he said back with a smile. "What about you Vitani, any interesting tale? You'd like to tell?"

Alma butted in, "If I may I would like to speak the tale of the maneless lion if anyone wants to hear it, I've told it to Keenan a few times when he was a very young cub but not really anyone else," Alma said before coughing and telling the story, "The lion with no mane sieraa was born out of a pride far from here not far from the pridelands territory, the pride I came from, He was a normal cub but one day his mother and father died, he was a teen by that point, his fur started to fall out and it wouldn't grow because he had mange, his fur grew back after weeks of swimming and rolling in mud, his fur was there but no mane came in he looked like a lioness at this point, everyone laughed at him the lion couldn't take the stress his body started to take a toll he died shortly after this he was apparently infested with heart worms. The lions of his pride were sad they never apologized they never even gave him the time of day, no one said goodbye. And that is the story of the nameless lion. Alma finished the story. "The moral of the story is shut up and don't bully others or else it will come back and kick ya in the butt." Alma joked.
