The buck said, "Well that depends... If she hates you then you might as well give up now. If not, just try being nice or what not." he didn't know that so far the buck have been doing the exact opposite.

The buck said, "Well, avoid what I said about challenges if they're taken as in emotionally taken. If they don't want to see you don't do anything stupid to try and make them like you."
