[Closed] Trials in the Pridelands

Kiara's heart sank yet again. Her eyes glazed over with tears. What once was a smile, was down a frown. Tears started coming out of her eyes. "Father, why not us?" She asked, face now damp with tears. Looking over to Chaka, and walking over to him. "Chaka, it's you and me against the world." Her voice cracked with tears. Putting her arm around her non-chosen brother, she dug her face in his shoulder, damping his fur with her tears. Kiara lifted her head and looked at Kopa, "Good job, Kopa!" She smiled, bringing her paws up and showing 'thumbs up'.

Kopa was ecstatic. "Really?" he asked his father, grinning. But his joy died away as he realized his siblings had shared the same hopes and dreams as he did. His heart broke in two as he heard Kiara's words to Chaka. Is it really true? Are they against me just because I will be king?

Simba looked at Kiara. "This is what your grandfather wanted," he explained. He then went over and held Kiara close to him. "Kiara, there's still hope for you to be queen one day. All you would have to do is marry a prince from another pride," he stated.

Nala leaned down and licked Kiara's cheek, "I know how much you wanted to be a Queen sweety. But im sure your father and I can rearrange something with another Pride." she said with a smile. Nala brought Kopa into her right arm and scooped up Chaka with the other, "Your both my Princes. I love you both so much. Kopa will be a great King and Chaka will be a good advisor." she said softly her blue eyes gazing at her cubs. She looked to Simba and sighed, hoping her family wouldn't get torn apart.

Although Chaka had tried his best to please his father, he knew Kopa would have been king anyway. He was firstborn, so he and Kiara had no chances...or was he wrong? What would have happened if Kopa hadn't shown qualities of a good king? As Chaka was pushed near his mother, he looked up into her eyes and thoguht about what she had just said. "Adviser?" he pondered, but, wasn't Zazu for that?

Simba looked into the eyes of Chaka. "Please, Chaka, promise me that you won't become jealous and resentful. That is what destroyed Scar," he said. He then looked at Kiara. "The same goes for you, Kiara," he added.

Kiara frowned. "But this is my home, and I want my cubs and grand-cubs to be here too." She stated, then looking to her mother. "What if the prince doesn't like me?" She said with a sad tone lingering in her voice. Her father spoke to all three of them. "I promise mother and father, that I will not be like Uncle Scar." She nodded in approval to the words she just recently spoke.

Simba smiled at Kiara. "That's all I ask. As for your future life, I will personally talk to any prince who comes to you to make sure he will love you and treat you right," he stated.

Chaka smiled at his dad. "Great-Uncle Scar was a monster. I'll never be like that...I promise." He ran to Simba and curled around his leg. "I don't want to do anything bad to Kopa, he's the best brother anyone could have." Chaka chuckled a bit and looked up at Nala. "Mom, I'm a bit confused...isn't Zazu the adviser? And what about my princess?" Chaka looked puzzled. Even though he had a long life ahead of him, he was eager to know the answers.

"Hey bro, don't worry!" Kopa said to Chaka. "Just because I'm King doesn't mean that you still aren't in line for the throne! And 'sides, I'm gonna need your help! We can rule it together!"
