Title: Understanding A Heart

Summary: Everyone knows of Simba's past, and his future. But what if it was different?
In this story, before Nala came to the pride there was another lion family, and Simba was best friends with their cub. They told each other they would never forget each other. Then Mufasa had no choice but to drive the lion family away, and they took Simba's friend along.
Now as he has grown up and found Nala, she comes back, and they remember each other. But Simba does not know if he is in love wit her, or Nala.

Exerpt: Alana's heart thundered as she ran through the jungle. Her tears began to cascade over her face. She saw them. She couldn't believe it. Simba said he would never forgot her, and he did. Going to Nala. Her heart broke into teeny tiny pieces as she flopped down on the hillside, and cried

May I be Simba?

Exerpt: Simba has just slept and he had a dream. In this dream he played with his best friend: Alana. "I will never forget you" He said with a smile as he nuzzled his playmate. But Alana's family had to go to away. "Please, no! Please, dont go away!" He shouted to Alana. "Please..." He said as his voice dead away and he started to cry. "...Please"
"Alana!" He said as he woke up. He lifted his head and looked around but there is nobody there. "Oh... It was just a dream..." He said as he put down his head and he was thinking about his dream.

[Nitro]

Nala please!

Excerpt: Nala crouched down low on the barren ground, where her mother had taught her to hunt long ago when there was grass to hide in and prey to choose from. Now, there was only gray dirt packed toughly until it resembled more stone than soil. A small wildebeest stood but a mere 15 yards away, obviously not yet fully grown and crying for it herd. Her thorn-sharp claws outstreched, flexing in anticipation of when she would sink them into her kill and finally have a meal to bring back to her starving pride. She tensed her muscles ready to pounce, bared her fangs, and- "NALA!" The wildebeest scattered, gone before she could even blink. She growled in frusturation and tears formed behind her eyes, and she turned to head home, tail dragging in the dust and not yet ready to begin bending to Scar's whims once more. She glanced once into the horizon, and didn't look back. "Simba...," she whispered. "We need you... I need you...

Alright, I'll try for Simba, then. I know they've already been tried out, but I'm not keen on Timon or Pumbaa.

The golden lion lay, but was not asleep. His mind was elsewhere, in a time that had long since passed. He could still hear her voice, even though it had been so long. The memories of all they had been through wizzed through his mind, never ceasing, and pieced his being with every little laugh, adventure, game, even the sound of her voice was enough to bring him to the brink of tears. He knew he would never forget here, he had promised no to when she left... Maybe it was time to more on, and accept he would never see her again, but he didn't want to... How could he forget everything they had been through? The tears slid down his muzzle, he had no clue how long he had been crying now, all he knew was he was numb, inside and out, wandering the visions of their past. Simba grogily pulled himself to his feet, with each step the pounding in his grew louder, almost so that he felt it would wake Timon and Pumbaa, lost in their peacefull dreams nearby. He wandered through the jungle, eventually coming to a clearing, where the night sky broke through the trees above him, the moonlight hitting his golden pelt, making it seem to shine. All his memories were swimming together now, of his father, his uncle, his mother, Nala, even her mother and the faces of his pridesisters swam before him as the night grew old, until eventually he fell into a broken, dreamless sleep.

For right now. I want Jirani as Simba, and Nitro as Nala. I haven't added the deadline yet though so still thinking. But those are who I want right now. Sorry Simba3 but not this time. Maybe next time we can make our own okay???
