Do you think the world is going to end?

I don't know what's scarier...that video, or the fact that I'll be 44 years old when that day comes lol.

The destruction of Paris in the beginning really got to me for some reason. Pretty sure I saw a gargoyle there that looked just like Laverne from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. That bit sort of made me die a little bit on the inside =(

I think that humans need to change, all of us. If we change and start to live in harmony, the world is not going to end. But if we don't change and keep living in this hell, the world is going to end. And I ask, why it should continue if it's going to stay the same? Siblings are killing themselves (I don't mean just blood related, I mean all the people that kill other people), humans think that they're better than animals and plants (that these don't matter). And I ask why? Why we have to live like this when we could have all the happiness we desire, in peace, together, united... As one. In my opinion, I'm prepared for anything; If Jesus comes back I'll leave everything and follow him, if the world ends I'll be happy for one part because all of my suffering will stop and I'll go to heaven to meet my soul siblings and reunite with my heart's light and if nothing happens, I'll continue the fight path for my dreams and the fight mission to change the world and make it a better place; I will help my siblings(and I mean all the humans around the world) in every way I can, I will help my other siblings(I mean the animals) to survive in these hell human world and I'll try my hardest to find my happiness and fulfill the true meaning of life.

The thing is, pretty much all of us wish that we could live in a world without crime, death, poverty and other pain, both mental and physical. Unfortunately, it will never happen. There will always be people who think that it's OK to go around doing whatever they wish and live a life full of crime. Not everybody will realise how hard it is to live in poverty in many very poor places around the world. It is the unfortunate truth. We will never truly understand why there is so much suffering in the world. Maybe ignorance? I don't know.

Personally, I believe that science and technology will help decrease poverty and suffering around the world. Overpopulation is also an issue and maybe we could eventually create some sort of base on the moon eventually. I honestly tingle with excitement everytime I hear about a scientific breakthrough in anything

I very much agree with Whitelionesseyes. I dislike humans(though I am one) and wish I was some kind of animal, with all their grace and beauty. But anyway, I don't believe really the world will end in 2012, but it certainly willl 'end' someday if us humans don't start to really change and stop destroying our beautiful, supporting planet Earth.

I just watched that video and I honestly doubt that the human race would still even exist in 2-3 billion years. Even if we were still here (somehow :S) then we would have mastered space travel a very long time ago, so we would be elsewhere in the universe. I think it's probably more likely that we kill ourselves off rather than some natural disaster not that I want it to happen, but still....

So you think that there is more chance of us ending our own civilisation than say a asteroid plummeting to Earth (which science has already proven is a possibility)? And anyway would that not still be classed a natural disaster? I mean the end of humanity would be a natural disaster no matter how it was caused would it not?

Well, technically it's a man-made disaster if man caused it, such as if we started approving of the use of nuclear weapons. There are so many countries with nuclear weapons that it's impossible to tell what will happen with them in this volatile world of ours. I mean, India and Pakistan were on the verge of nuclear war with each other and there's still a whole load of tension between them. North Korea is one of the biggest threats to the world (IMO). We have almost no knowledge of what North Korea is doing with their nuclear weapons. There could even be a war between North Korea and South Korea. I wouldn't be surprised, since they were shelling each other not to long ago. You just can't rule anything out.
