http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/news/4321 ... -confirmedBut remember that is only confirmed to be a planet that could sustain human like life, that is not to say that other planets do not contain life of different species. And yes I do think that aliens (which is the proper term for anything existing on a different planet than Earth) do exist. I really do not know whether I truly believe in life on other planets. I mean yes the thought that we are the only life out there is a depressing one but meh. I definitely do not think that there is any proof of them here on Earth though and technology is never going to get us to other solar systems. So yes there is, but I am never going to see it happen so I could care less to be quite honest.
So yeah there is but I stopped caring because for one, IF we find out there is life on other planets, and their technology turns out to be 1000 times better than ours, they could decide to take over our planet, which I would rather not happen to be honest, I quite like humans and you know... Being alive.
Also I just believe that it will cause more harm than good if we try to contact them, think about it, it could change the whole concept of religion and "God", as far as I know he was said to have created the Earth right, but if there are other planets and life then how would Christianity explain that? The whole concept would have to be revised, really it would change everything. In fact we will probably move from BC - AD to BC (Before contact) to AC (After contact).
TL-DR, Yes I believe in life and civilizations on other planets / solar systems, but I just quite frankly do not care. Never going to see it myself.
