Karus' daughter said, "Unfortunately my leg isn't doing too good. I can't help you that well." Karus laughed, "Then the body I take over will kill everyone else." Marena looked at the buck, "You tried to save my life back there." The buck said, "It was nothing really."

Membo said, "I can't see my own antler though, that's the problem."

Karus' daughter said, "You really want me to have a banged up leg don't you?" She went over and checked it out. Karus said, "Time. Remember Nello if you ignore me I will kill your family anyway and then kill you. You must find out who I am." Suddenly Karus allowed Nello to wake up. The buck then said, "I wasn't much help anyway." Marena frowned, "No don't say that."

Membo looked at her leg as she came closer, "What happened?" Nello opened his eyes. It took his vision a few moments to become clear and another few moments for him to stand up. The forest around him sounded completely normal. As he stood up he noticed the broken buck's antler and he felt like a monster. He took a deep breath and walked.

Suddenly Karus' voice still talked in his ear, "By the way Nello I say this with glee. Membo has your doe loving him." Suddenly there was laughter as the voice finally disappeared. Karus' daughter sighed, "Bear trap." The buck said, "Marena perhaps we can lay down somewhere?" She nodded and said, "Of course."

Membo asked, "Can you see how I need to move to release myself?"

Karus' daughter sighed, "Can't you just push yourself away from the root or something like that?" The buck laid down with Marena and said, "I apologize but hearing about my mother and father has caused me to think back. I have no memories of any fatherly or motherly warmth..." Marena felt bad and said, "Of course." The buck immediately nuzzled up against her, "I mean it feels like an empty feeling."

Membo felt stupid, "Oh, right..." he went ahead and stood up. Nello meanwhile was walking without too much thought on where exactly he was going. He felt like it wasn't important.

Karus' daughter laughed and said, "Congratulations on figuring that out." The buck looked at Marena, "I'm sorry I'll say no more." She sighed and said, "It's okay I know you've had a hard life."
