"Yeah? You will?" asked Kovu, digging in to the warthog before Zira snapped at his side. "Kovu! Lions first. Then lion--" "Lionesses, then cubs. I know." He sulkily watched his step-father eat. "Dianamte," Kovu began, stumbling over the long name, "What did you do before you came?"

"Sure, sure," Kopa muttered, lost in thought. The hyenas may have killed other cubs, but no one could touch him and his siblings!

"Please, just promise me that you and your brother and sister won't go to the Elephant Graveyard. I don't want anything to happen to you," Simba said, hoping what he was saying was sinking in.

Kopa stayed quiet, gazing off over the savannah where the elephant herd was gathered by the watering hole.

Nala's ears flattened back at Chaka's words, "Do Not Go there.." she ordered her blue eyes staring down at her cubs. She looked at them and sighed, "Your father and I almost got ourselves killed by hyenas." she added. Nala sat beside Simba and rested her head on his shoulder, "Mom agreed to take the cubs to bed tonight. We have much to discuss..." she said softly. Her blue eyes fell on her chattering cubs and then to her mother and she gave a nod.

Sarafina stood to her paws quickly and rounded all three cubs up, "Say goodnight to your parents kids." she said softly smiling and stepping back.

Mostro took a piece of the meat and stepped back letting Zira get her fill and he enjoyed the fresh warthog, blood gathering on his muzzle. His pink tongue peeked out of his muzzle lips as he licked off the leftovers and relaxed in the dirt watching the sun set. "Tell us Diamante' what did your pride use you for." he asked curiously.


Diamante' looked down at Kovu and smiled, "I was a messenger more or less, nothing too exciting. I'm quick on my paws and my King realized that so he trusted me with the most deepest darkest secrets of our Pride." she said her voice trailing off. It had been those secrets that almost cost her her life. "I was never strong enough to be a skilled fighter or a great huntress. I used my speed when necessary to kill smaller prey but it never was enough to fill the whole Pride. I was recognized for my speed and my size, You though Kovu will be a large lion. I'm sure of it." she said smiling.

Simba waited until Sarafina had left with the cubs before speaking. "Oh Nala, if only I could end the conflict with Zira without bloodshed," he said.

Kiara ran to her mother. "Good night mommy, I love you!" Kiara said nuzzling her mothers leg, after she went to her father. "Bye Daddy, I love you!" She said to her father, again nuzzling his leg. Her paws padded over to Sarafina. "Lets go Grandma "Rafi." She said, admiring the nickname she made up. "Like the name? I made it myself!" She proudly said, walking alongside her grandmother.

Mufasa sat at the edge of Priderock, noticing his family. He started getting up and walking into the den. A smile brightened up his face.

"You think? Really?" He inched towards the warthog, but Zira shoved him back, gorging herself. "So, why'd you ditch 'em?" he continued, his stomach growling.
