Exactly what type of training did Zira make Kovu go through?

The way I see it, to go from "She did not seem so bad..." to " I MUST KILL HER FATHER!"... Yeah I reckon there was some kind of negative mentality imposed on him by Zira.

I have to politely disagree with this, just by looking at him you can tell that Kovu is a strong young lion, obviously not as strong as Simba, but still physically powerful. Even as a very young adult he is more physically impressive than his older brother and he was able to pick up an unconscious Kiara and carry to safety. Granted he did drop her but that was because he had no way to hold her to his back. I think it is safe to assume that Kovu when full grown will be as big as Simba.

As for his training he was obviously trained in ambush fighting techniques, as he was about to attack Simba at the waterhole. Vitani thought it would be a perfect opportunity for Kovu to attack Simba from behind the night Simba invited him into the den (which would have been suicide for Kovu had Vitani had thought it all the way through). Also given the fact that he was supposed to infiltrate Simba's pride he must have been trained in lying and deception. Also like Kopa23 said Zira most likely taught Kovu how to endure pain (whether or not she intended to do this or if it was just a side effect of her strict punishment that she likely imposed on Kovu if he failed to accomplish his training exercises exactly as she wanted them done is unknown). I'd say that all makes Kovu a formidable fighter.
