Star Pride (PG13 Anthro TLK/Star Wars story)

Postby KingKovu44 » March 3rd, 2011, 4:12 pm

Ok, welcome to another idea from me. This was a story idea that I had had sometime back in 2009. It involved a version of the Star Wars universe where anthro animals replace humans and live alongside the aliens. I made this chapter one, but then forgot about it. I have now rediscovered it. If you need any explanation on Star Wars terms used in this story, just ask. I don't know when I'll update. Enjoy and no bashing or flaming of any sort, please.

Chapter 1

The Galactic Republic was in trouble, struggling for its existence against the evil Sith. The Sith, under the leadership of the evil hyena Sith lord Darth Raan, who in his youth was a Jedi named Ramses, had won many victories over Republic forces lately. Within his office, a tall, powerful lion named Mufasa, the supreme chancellor of the Republic, paced his office, talking to a lioness named Sarabi, who was his beloved wife and also the representative of their homeworld of Naboo in the galactic senate.

“I worry for the Republic’s existence. Both the Jedi and army have lost many,” Mufasa said.

“The Sith seem to have found a way of building endless squads of fighters and battle droids,” Sarabi said.

“Yes, it’s the only likely conclusion,” Mufasa said.

“But what? How can that many fighters and droids be produced in so short a time?” Sarabi asked.

“I don’t know. I just don’t know,” Mufasa replied.

Just then, the door opened, revealing three other lions: Mufasa’s brother Scar, his wife Zira, who was Sarabi’s aide, and a lioness named Sarafina, who was Sarabi’s other aide as well as her best friend. Scar served as the vice-chairman of the Republic senate, and stood near his older brother at senate meetings, introducing the various senators as they came in to speak, moderating the meetings and so on. He stopped in front of Mufasa’s desk.

“Mufasa, the senate demands an answer,” he began.

“For what?” Mufasa replied.

“If you’ll be sending out an expedition to discover the source of the Sith’s fleet,” Scar replied.

“Lord speaker, the chancellor is very busy trying to conduct the war. The last thing he needs is more stress,” Sarabi said.

Scar looked at his sister-in-law.

“Senator Sarabi, the fate of the Republic depends on this information,” he said.

Following his statement, before Sarabi could reply, he moved towards the window.
Mufasa looked at him.

“Well, anything else you want to say?” the older lion asked.

“No,” Scar answered.

Scar then looked out upon the cityscape of Coruscant. No one, not even Mufasa, suspected his true feelings: he heavily favored the Sith due to the fact that they seemed to be winning.

“Tell me, Chancellor, will you send the expedition?” she asked, almost tauntingly.

Sarabi glared at her.

“You are in no place to ask that, Zira,” she said.

“Why not? I’m just as interested in the survival of the Republic as you are,” Zira lied.

As the conversation continued, Mufasa came to stand by Scar.

“What are you looking at?” he asked.

“This great city. I worry that the Sith will eventually come and take it,” Scar answered

Mufasa listened to Scar’s statements, all of which were a front for his true feelings of disgust towards the Republic, which he viewed as weak due to its losses. Zira felt the same way.

“You should be glad that our government is still standing after the devastation wrought by the Mandalorian wars. Sarabi and I are,” Mufasa stated.

Scar looked at him and scoffed.

“Plus, the Jedi ensure peace and security,” Sarabi added.

“The Jedi. What have they done for us?” Zira said with a sneer.

“When the Republic needed help during the wars, they came,” Sarafina answered.

“Yes, but only after we begged them repeatedly. By the time they got involved, several worlds had already been annihilated,” Scar countered.

Mufasa glared slightly. It was then that Scar decided to switch tactics.

“Then what about how they split up your family? Aren’t you the least bit sad that you don’t get to see Simba as often as you would like?” Scar said.

“We’re proud to have a Jedi in the family,” Sarabi stated.

Scar then turned to Sarafina.

“And you, Sarafina. Aren’t you sad that you aren’t able to see Nala?” he said.

Sarafina merely crossed her arms.

“I stand with the Chancellor. I’m proud to have a Jedi in the family,” she replied.

Knowing that he had lost the argument, Scar left. Zira followed. Meanwhile, at the Jedi Temple itself, in one of the many training chambers, Simba was engaged in a lightsaber practice match against a good friend of his, a white lion named Xerxes. While Simba wielded a blue lightsaber, Xerxes’ was green. Overseeing the practice match was their Jedi master, the wise mandrill Rafiki. A native of the planet Dantooine, he had been a Jedi master for many years, and was more than a bit eccentric. As their match continued, Simba and Xerxes talked.

“Can you believe the state of the war?” Xerxes said.

“I know. It seems like the Sith are taking more ground from the Republic each day,” Simba replied.

“I wish we could get involved, put an end to it,” Xerxes said.

“De council will decide what is best,” Rafiki stated.

“Yes Master,” Xerxes replied.

Just then, Nala and a lioness with pale golden fur named Amani appeared in the training room. For a few moments, they observed Simba and Xerxes.

“They’re some of the most impressive lightsaber duelists I’ve ever seen,” Nala commented.

“Yeah, they are,” Amani replied.

The training match continued for quite some time. Later that evening, Simba decided to pay Nala a visit. They had always been friends, but there was something else in their relationship: Simba, knowing full well that such relationships were forbidden by the Jedi code, loved Nala deeply. He went to her room and knocked, but there was no answer. Finding that the door was unlocked, he entered and found the beautiful lioness deep in meditation. Her lightsaber, whose blade gleamed purple when ignited, was attached to her belt. Simba called to her.

“Nala…” he began.

At the sound of her friend’s voice, Nala’s eyes opened.

“Simba, what are you doing here?” she asked.

“I, uh, came to see you,” he replied.

“There’s more, I can tell,” Nala replied.

“No, there isn’t,” Simba said in an unsure tone.

“Yes there is. Now tell me,” Nala replied.

Simba sighed.

“All right. Nala, I’m in love with you. I know it’s against the Jedi code, but I feel it,” he explained.

Nala rose and walked towards him.

“Truth is, I feel the same way,” she said.

Simba was shocked.

“Really?” he asked.

“Yes,” she replied.

In that moment, they stepped yet closer and shared a kiss. However, Simba had neglected to completely shut the door, and a familiar voice sounded. They turned to see an unhappy-looking Rafiki standing there.

“What is going on here?” he asked.

“Uh, nothing, Master,” Simba lied.

“I saw you two. You cannot keep anything from ol’ Rafiki,” the mandrill Jedi said.

Simba knew this was true.

“Very well, Master. Nala and I have affection for each other,” he said.

“You’re lucky I don’t tell de Jedi council about dis,” Rafiki continued.

Simba and Nala knew exactly what he meant. Rafiki was not merely a Jedi master; he was also a revered member of the council, known as much for his wisdom as for his skill with a lightsaber.

“Forgive us, Master,” Nala said.

“I forgive you, but do not let me catch ya again,” the mandrill stated.

“Yes sir,” Simba and Nala said in unison.

It was then that Rafiki looked at Simba and began a chant that he often recited.

“Asante sana squash banana we we nugu mi mi apana!” he said.

“Master, what does that mean?” Simba asked.

“It means you are a bantha, and I’m not,” the old Jedi master said with a chuckle.

Simba then departed. In Scar and Zira’s apartment, the two lions had made a plan. They would leave Coruscant entirely and make an alliance with the Sith. Then, they would loyally serve them when the Republic had fallen.

Chapter 2

Scar and Zira left Coruscant without telling anyone. Once they had left the Coruscant system, they began their journey to their destination: the ocean world of Manaan.

“I can’t wait to see the look on their faces when they realize that we’ve allied with the Sith,” Zira said, a cruel smirk appearing on her face.

“Indeed,” Scar said, returning the expression.

The rest of their flight across the galaxy was uneventful. Soon, they arrived at Ahto City, the only land on all of Manaan. Their reason for coming here was simple: this world boasted a Sith embassy, and with any luck, the Sith ambassador there would be able to get them in contact with the Sith fleet. They landed in the docking bay, pulled hoods over their heads to disguise themselves, made their way through the hall, paid the docking fee and finally entered Ahto City. As they walked, they saw members of Manaan’s native species, the fish-like Selkath. Zira glared as one of the aliens passed her.

“Selkath. Such a disgusting species,” she said to herself.

Their walk continued until they finally saw the insignia of the Sith over a doorway. They went to the guard on duty. This guard was a Monitor lizard, and he took his job very seriously. He held up his hand, causing Scar and Zira to stop in their tracks.

“No one gets in without authorization,” the lizard stated.

“We have merely come to see the ambassador. You see, my wife and I wish to join the Sith,” Scar replied.

“Hmm, I think we can manage that. Names, please?” the lizard said.

“I am Nguvu,” Scar answered.

“And I am Bianca,” Zira told the guard.

The giving of these false names had been part of their plan. Soon, the guard had opened the door and Scar and Zira entered the Sith embassy. They walked through the halls until, finally, they reached the ambassador’s office. The Sith ambassador was a tall Cape buffalo. He looked at Scar and Zira.

“Well, I hear you want to join the Sith,” he began.

“That is correct,” Scar stated.

The ambassador looked him in the eyes.

“And what do you do? I ask this because I want to know what skill you bring,” he replied.

Scar decided that it was time for the truth. He pulled down his hood.

“I am Scar, speaker of the Republic senate. I wish to ally with the Sith because of my disgust at how they are losing the war,” he said.

The ambassador was delighted to have such an important Republic official in his office. He agreed to contact the main Sith fleet.

“At the moment, they are in the process of invading the planet of Taris,” he informed them.

By now, Zira had removed her hood.

“Can we get a transport there?” she asked.

The ambassador grinned.

“Indeed you can. I’ll even try to get you a meeting with the Dark lord himself,” he said.

Scar and Zira were overjoyed. Soon, the Sith would crush the Republic and they would be part of the new order. Meanwhile, back on Coruscant, Scar and Zira’s disappearance had become known throughout the senate. However, that news was soon overshadowed by a new piece of news: that of the invasion of Taris by the Sith. Mufasa had called the senate to session to discuss the problem.

“What are we going to do?” Senator Zazu of Alderaan asked.

“Yes, Chancellor, we demand to know,” the red-skinned female Twi’lek senator from Ryloth added.

Her words sent the other senators into a frenzy. Mufasa’s Rodian aide, who was serving as vice-chairman in Scar’s absence, tapped his staff against the floor of the senate pod.

“Order! We shall have order!” he said.

When the senate chamber had fallen into silence, Mufasa spoke.

“My fellow politicians, it is obvious what needs to be done. We will send a military fleet to Taris to solve the problem,” he said.

Sarabi came over in her senate pod.

“Fellow delegates, much as I prefer peace, this is something needs to be done. As well, I suggest we ask the Jedi for help,” she said.

The debate continued on for some time, but was finally decided that the military fleet would be sent out. A call went out to the Jedi council, who, grasping the circumstances of the situation and knowing what might happen if the Sith were successful, sent a group of their best and most talented Jedi, including Simba and Nala, to join with the fleet. Xerxes and Amani offered to go as well, but were told that they were needed at the Jedi Temple, which they accepted with resignation. Once everyone was assembled, the fleet headed for Taris. Everything was peaceful for most of the trip, and Simba even managed to take a nap in his room aboard the ship they were in, the Endar Spire. However, he was awakened by the sound of emergency alarms. Just then, Nala ran in. Her lightsaber was ignited and she was out of breath, as if she had been fighting to get to his room.

“We’ve been ambushed by a Sith battle fleet. The Endar Spire is under attack,” she said.

Simba rose to his feet, grabbed his lightsaber from the bedside table and activated the gleaming blue blade.

“Let’s go. We’ve gotta get to the bridge,” he said.

And so, the two lions left the room, fighting their way through several Sith troopers. The energy blades of their lightsabers sliced clean through the trooper’s armor and killing them instantly. Finally, they made it to the bridge, where the horrible truth hit them: they were the only ones left on board. All the Republic soldiers and all the Jedi had been killed. They extinguished their lightsabers and, without a word, made their way to the escape pods, knowing that the ship would soon be destroyed. They were happy to find that there was one left. They boarded and took off, finally crashing in the upper city of Taris. Simba was knocked unconscious. Nala managed to drag him to an abandoned apartment, where he slipped in and out of unconsciousness for a couple of days before finally waking up. He saw Nala standing before him.

“Nice to see you up instead of thrashing in your sleep,” she said.

Simba rubbed his head.

“Where are we?” he asked.

“We’re in an abandoned apartment on Taris. I was able to drag you away from where our escape pod landed. However, Taris is now under Sith control and we must find a way off this world,” Nala answered.

“Well then, the sooner we start looking for a way off, the sooner we find it,” he said.

And so, Simba and Nala set out to find a way off Taris.

“Perhaps we could find a pilot in the cantina,” Nala suggested.

“Good idea,” Simba replied.

The two Jedi headed for the cantina, unaware that finding a pilot was actually going to be very easy.

Thanks Kopalover. None of the characters are Anakin and Padme. This is based on a video game called "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic", which is set 4,000 years before the films. This is a period in which the Sith were numerous and lightsaber battles were common. Again, thanks for the comments and I can't wait to read your reply.

Thanks! I love Star Wars a lot, and so combining it with TLK was a natural idea for me, especially since they have a connection through James Earl Jones. Anyway, the next chapter will be here soon, so stay tuned. It involves Simba and Nala journeying on Taris trying to find a way off. Along the way, they meet new allies, including a Wookiee. Again, thanks for the comments and taking time to read. I hope you'll enjoy chapter three as much.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 3

Simba and Nala walked through the streets of Taris’ upper city, trying to avoid being seen by the many Sith troopers that were patrolling the area.

“Hopefully, they haven’t noticed us,” Simba whispered.

Cloaking themselves in the Force, the two lions made their way to the cantina. The clientele of the establishment was composed almost of Anthros like Simba and Nala. They remembered that Taris was a heavily Anthro-centric society, and aliens were rarely allowed into the Upper City without permits. Returning their minds to the here and now, Simba and Nala began to search for a pilot. Both lions allowed the Force to guide them. The Force led them to a table. At this table sat two foxes, a handsome red-furred male and a gorgeous blue-furred female. Simba and Nala approached them. Nala decided to take the lead in this situation.

“Excuse me, we’re looking for pilots,” she said, trying to keep her voice down.

The male fox looked at her.

“Well, you’ve come to the right people. My name is Fox McCloud, and this is my wife Krystal,” he said.

Simba and Nala looked hopeful.

“We are pilots from the galactic core, but the Sith confiscated our ship when they took over,” Krystal explained.

“And now, we’re stuck here until the quarantine ends,” Fox said.

Simba nodded.

“Well, if we can find a way off the planet, would you be interested in joining up with us?” he asked.

Krystal looked at him.

“We are great admirers of the Jedi, and normally would do anything to help them, but we are not eager to raise the ire of the Sith,” she said.

Nala nodded.

“Help us, and we will keep you safe,” she stated.

Fox and Krystal looked at each other, as if in thought. Finally, they looked back at Simba and Nala.

“Very well, Master Jedi. We will accompany you,” Krystal said.

Simba nodded.

“Thank you. Just be careful. We don’t want you to get in trouble on account of us,” he said.

Fox and Krystal smiled.

“Always a pleasure to meet a Jedi,” she said.

And so, the quartet left the cantina, ready to find a way off this world. As they walked, they talked about the task ahead of them.

“How are we going to do this?” Fox asked.

“First, we need to get to the undercity in order to find those escape pods and see if there’s any other Republic survivors,” Simba stated.

“I think you can only get there if you’re a member of the Sith forces. If you had a suit of Sith armor, you could fool them into thinking you were one of them,” Krystal replied.

“Minor problem, Krystal…how are we going to get a suit of Sith armor?” Fox asked.

Krystal smiled.

“I wondered that myself. While you were getting our table, I asked around. Long story short, we have an invitation to a party hosted by young Sith troopers,” she said.

“A dangerous proposition, but if it helps us, I’m ready,” Simba said.

Everyone agreed, and they headed for the apartments to go to the party.
