Bio: Commodus was a character that appeared in early drafts of "Trials in the Pridelands". He is the prince of a nearby pride and was one of several suitors that Mufasa invited to Pride Rock to ask for Vitani's paw in marriage, all of which were rejected due to their attitudes.

Other: Commodus is named for an ancient Roman emperor who, among other things, renamed the city of Rome after himself, claimed to be Hercules reborn and spent time performing as a gladiator.
