Vitani chuckled, "I'm not going to practice it on you am I?" she was obviously joking.

"No, of course not. You'll be practicing it on a gazelle carcass that I took the liberty of killing before you came for practice," Serena replied, enjoying Vitani's joke.

Vitani raised an eyebrow, "But how will that prepare me for a living one?"

"It will teach you the killing marks that every lioness must know," Serena said calmly.

Vitani stared at the older lioness for a second before nodding.

"Now, let us go and begin, Serena said, leading Vitani to the gazelle.

Vitani silently followed the lioness.

Serena watched as Vitani practiced the killing marks on the carcass before finally calling her off. "You did well. Now, if you're hungry, we can eat," she said.

Vitani looked at Serena, "The gazelle?" she would prefer to try hunting something for real, even if she wasn't an adult yet and therefor was smaller.
