Vitani smiled, "Cool." maybe all the time she sneaked up on Kopa would come in handy.

"All right, let's get started," Serena said. They headed to a section of long grass. "The first step is to make sure you're completely hidden by the grass," Serena began.

Vitani could remember one time she hided from Kopa in some grass. "Okay." she went ahead and crouched low behind a patch of grass.

"Now, stay low until the very moment you're ready to strike," Serena continued. Vitani was doing very well. She would need these skills for when she was queen one day.

Vitani nodded, 'This is just like when I sneak on Kopa, and he never noticed me before I pounced at him before.' "Are you the 'target' ma'am?"

"Yes. I will be your target, but do not use your claws and teeth at this moment," Serena replied and went and began to imitate a grazing zebra in order to give Vitani a hint of what she would be up against.

Vitani said, "Of course not ma'am." she never thought about using her claws or teeth when she was only practicing. She waited a few more moments before beginning to slowly walk closer to where Serena was. Usually when she snuck up on Kopa she never made a noise, but the few times she did made her more cautious than what Serena was probably expecting. Once she felt she was close enough the future queen pounced out of her hiding spot and directly at the older lioness.

Serena was impressed. "Good work, Vitani. Keep it up and you will hardly fail a hunt," she said.

The compliment brought a smile to the young lioness' face. "Thank you ma'am." despite being excited to learn she was also apprehensive about what would happen if she didn't do well. But upon hearing what Serena said, she was no longer worried. "What next?"
