[Closed] Trials in the Pridelands

"Good," Simba said. He took a deep breath. "I can't believe any lioness would attack a defenseless cub," he continued. Finally, they arrived back at Pride Rock. Simba went to Mheetu. "Hey Mheetu. Are you feeling all right after what happened today?" he asked in a calming voice.

Zira growled, as did the rest of them. Pain and failure was all they could think about. Their plan had failed. Their attack had failed. Nuka was "blessed" with a new scar. "Tonight, we attack." said Scar, and the hyenas cackles with excitement. Today, the throne would be his.

Shenzi was beside herself with excitement. She smiled at Scar. "All hail the new king," she said. She then turned her back and sneered at Zira. Banzai then walked up to Scar. "Will we hyenas have plenty of food?" he asked.

"Well, why wouldn't you?" Scar smiled. "Gather the hyenas into five groups. Surround Pride Rock as soon as the moon is visible."

Shenzi smiled wickedly. "Yes sir," she said before leaving to do what was asked of her. Meanwhile, back at Pride Rock, Simba had spent the rest of the day with Mheetu in order to calm his nerves. He knew nothing of what Scar and Zira were plotting for tonight.

"It is time," Scar said, as soon as the moon rose. He began to run. He watched as legions of hyenas spread across the land. Zira and Nuka were following him, and they were willing to fight to the death. He neared Pride Rock and roared.

Simba heard the roar and went to investigate and once again saw the black-maned lion with the scar on his eye, the lioness with the hole in her ear, Nuka and many hyenas. He glared at Scar and Zira. "What are you doing here?" he demanded.

Mufasa ran outside with his Pride. "What are you doing, brother!" Mufasa yelled into the night, roaring soon after. Calling out his entire pride, including some of the other male lions. He was sure, the hyenas were no match to the entire pride. His red eyes were flaming mad, his claws were out and ready to attack, he flashed his teeth, and showed his bulging muscles. He nodded for Simba, Vitani and Sarabi to move towards him.

Vitani ran out of the den as his father called the pride out into the night. She stopped at her fathers side, glaring at Scar. She was embarrassed to call him her Real Father. She did the same as Mufasa, showed her muscles, glared at the enemies, extended her claws, and bared her white teeth. Shaking her hair tuft from her angry face. Ready to let her anger out at any hyena she could get her claws and teeth upon.

Everything flashed so fast before Nala’s blue eyes as the hyenas and the outlanders surrounded Pride rock. The pride was gathering and she watched Mufasa take the lead and Simba close behind, she found her own spot and called to her mother. Nala’s blue eyes narrowed as she stared down at Zira and soft growl emitting fom her muzzle lips the young lioness made her way closer.

Sarafina scooped up Mheetu and hid him way back into the lion’s den where they stash all the cubs. Sarafina looked at Mheetu and there matching green eyes met, she smiled for a moment. “Your going to hear a lot of noises. Some good and some scarey…don’t leave the den.” she said leaving a order.

Mheetu put his paws on Sarafina’s leg and looked up, “But what if you call me? I want to stay with you..” he said tears filling his eyes.

Sarafina nuzzled her son, “You’ve had a long day Mheetu and this battle is too big for you. I won’t call for you, I will physically come in and retrieve you.” she added. Sarafina licked Mheetu’s cheek and nudged him softly back into the corner, “Your father,sister and I will be perfectly fine. Don’t leave the den.” she said stepping away from Mheetu. She looked away she couldn’t stand to see him cry, she started to quickly make her way towards the entrance.

“Mom…Mom.” Mheetu cried as he watched her disappear into the darkness. Mheetu heard a loud rumble and he crawled closer to the corner. He heard the soft sound of rain and he looked up at the ceiling, then out towards Pride rock.

Sarafina kept moving towards the group and she felt the soft drops of rain his her pelt and soaking her fur. She took her spot beside Shujaa and nodded to Nala as they took their positions. “Tonight. We fight for our home….” she said growling softly.

Simba noticed the rain as well. "The mud might make this battle harder..." he thought to himself. Then focused on Zira, as what she had done to Mheetu earlier enraged him. "What did you hope to gain by attacking an innocent cub?" he asked.
