Vitani looked down at her paws, "My mother does..." she looked at Kopa, hoping for something reassuring from his direction.

Kopa decided to change the subject. "Well, it's good to see you again," he told her.

Vitani managed a smile, "Yeah, same on this end..."

Kopa looked around. "So, what should we do now?" he said.

Vitani shook her head, "I don't know..." her mother probably already noticed that she was missing. "My mother is so going to kill me when I get back..." her tone was shaky.

"Come on. I'm sure that my parents will accept and protect you if you just tell them that you left on your own," Kopa said, trying hard not to lose his friend again.

Vitani still seemed to be hesitating, "What if they don't?"

"We'll see. Come on, they're in the den. Just make sure you say that you came on your own and say what your mother does to you," Kopa said before heading back towards Pride Rock.

Vitani again hesitated, but eventually followed Kopa. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" she asked, her tail between her legs.
