Personally, considering Taka was naught but a fans name for a young Scar, I like the name Scar.
The only thing that seperates the name Taka from any name we might think of for a young Scar is the fact that Disney published a book by a fan who decided that their name for a young Scar would be Taka. So in my opinion, we should be able to call young Scar anything we like because there is no canon name for him...

I like the name Scar because of the symbolism in it. In the movie the story behind his scar is a complete mystery and it adds depth and a mysterious feeling to the character.

I also like the name Taka because it`s more African-sounding, but I don`t think the TLK6NA books has ruined his name in any way.

Taka was not a better name Scar was not garbage he only ended up a minor male because Mufasa didn't throw him out of the pride like most male lion leaders do in real life if he was kicked out and found his own pride he would have been his own king.
And he would never killed Mufasa or messed up Simbas cubbie life

For my opinion, I think Scar/Taka could've been named something more evil or mean. Taka just means garbage, maybe that should have been Nuka's name? Not Scar/Taka's, he was well groomed and had hyenas do his bidding. As Nuka was the exact opposite. Also, Scar is more of a nickname, and just a one-time deal, just because he had a scar doesn't mean he had to be NAMED Scar.

But that's just my opinion...

I personally like Taka better than Scar simply because it sounds more African-y. I mean, seriously, we have Simba, Mufasa, Nala, Pumbaa, Shenzi, Ahadi, and then Scar. It jut doesn't fit.

Taka sounds cute, at least much more than Scar. But it's obvious that Taka came about after TLK 1: No one would name their child "trash" willingly. It would have been better if Scar was named something more normal. But Taka is still much better than Scar.

Well considering their names, I think we can tell who Ahadi and Uru liked better. Mufasa and Taka. King and Trash.
