DO you think Timon and Pumbaa know about Simba's past?
I was thinking about this. Timon and Pumbaa weren't shown to be listening to Scar and Simba when they were talking about Simba "killing" Mufasa...he obviously didn't tell them in the jungle. Do you think he ever mentioned it? I'm sure they would have asked after the big fight.

What do you think?
It doesn`t seem to me as if Simba told them much about his past. Timon and Pumbaa had no idea that Simba was a prince, and they obviously didn`t know about the good relationship Simba had with Mufasa.

When Simba first meets them, Pumbaa wonders what Simba did to become exiled. Naturally Simba doesn`t feel like sharing, and Timon replies "Good, we don`t wanna hear about it."
Also, Timon tells Simba that he has to put the past behind him. I think Simba kept pretty much everything about his past hidden from his new friends, in order to move on and try to heal his wounds by forgetting/repressing the past.

Living the "Hakuna Matata" life meant forgetting about the past, living in the now, and having no worries or fears about the future.

Another possibily...

After Nala explained that Scar ruined the Pridelands and Simba had gone back to fight...maybe they just thought he went back to claim his homeland?
Still, I think they might have asked question and possibly found out that Mufasa died...but maybe Simba never told them he was blamed for all those years?
However..."What you do, kid?" "Something terrible"...maybe after finding out Mufasa died, they would have asked question?

I don't know, just throwing some thoughts out there.

EDIT: Just read the post above...that is very true, maybe they just respected Simba's wishes and never asked?

No, I don't think Simba would have told them. Because if Simba had told them, they would obviously had known they had hurt his feelings when they said that the Great Kings looking down on them was the stupidest thing they've ever heard. And they also had no knowing of who Scar was and why Simba went back.

I think 1 of 3 out comes happened:

1 -
"Simba, what happened?"
"Geez guys! Hakuna Matata, as you say, quit living in the past!"

2-
"Simba, what happened?"
Simba sits the entire pride down and tells them all exactly what happened.

3-
No one asks, maybe he tells a few of Mufasa's closest friends, who are desperate to know what happened or no one at all.

I'd say number 2.

Well Timon knew about Scar "Scar! heck of a guy! A little moody, but" but I'm not sure if he knew the whole story

At first I thought if Simba told timon and Pumba about his past then it would have been said somewhere between the part where Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumba where standing looking into the pridelands, up to where Timon suggested dressing in drag and doing the hula.

The reason why I thought this is because when the 4 of them where looking out to the gloomy pridelands, they where a bit of a walking distance away from priderock so they must have all been talking when they where making their way over there and surely Timon and Pumba asked why they where on their way to fight Scar. On the other hand if he had told them then, then Nala would also have known the story but we see later that she didn't know when Scar pointed it out to everyone.

I don't think Timon and Pumba really knew the true story until after the fight.

I think that what Timon and Pumbaa knew about were bits and pieces that Simba gave them. Eventually, they were able to piece the parts they got together, but with Hakuna Matata, the past is strictly off limits. But despite that, I think that Simba would have had a very hard time adjusting initially to living with Timon and Pumbaa (The bad dream scene in TLK 1.5). I believe that the only way Timon and Pumbaa could have truly helped Simba grow up was for him to tell them at least part of his past.
In TLK 1, they knew enough not to be surprised, but if they heard the Simba's reply when Scar asked him who killed Mufasa... they would have been in for a shock.

In my opinion, they knew at least part of the truth.

Simba must have told them after the fight I dont think they knew before that because Nala explains it a little bit to them and they have no clue what she is talking about.
