This is a little story intended to tie in to my current AU RP "Trials in the Pridelands". This is dedicated to all my castmates in that RP. I had Mufasa dispose of Scar in the way he does because I thought it would make for an interesting role reversal. However, this time, the action is about protecting his loved ones and not malicious. No bashing or flaming of any sort, please.

You who I Called Brother
The battle between Mufasa and Scar had gone on for some time now. The fire that the lightning had started raged around Pride Rock, adding to the spectacle of the battle. Mufasa glared at his traitorous brother.
“Now I know who you truly are, Scar. I will put you out of your misery, for the sake of my wife, my son, my daughter, and for the sake of all those who depend on me,” the king stated.
Scar glared as he dodged a blow from Mufasa’s powerful paw.
“My daughter, Mufasa. Vitani is my daughter. You stole her from me!” he stated.
Mufasa growled.
“You would have been a terrible father. After all, you were perfectly willing to murder your own innocent nephew,” he stated.
The battle continued, as did the battle between Sarabi, Shujaa, Simba, Nala, Vitani and the other lionesses against Zira, Nuka and the hyenas. Mufasa chased Scar up to the top of Pride Rock. Scar was now truly terrified. The scrawny, sickly lion’s arrogance was all but lost. He backed up against a rock as Mufasa walked majestically through the flames directly at him.
“Traitor,” the king said.
“Mufasa, please. Don’t do this. It's the hyenas who are the real enemy. It was their fault! It was their idea!” Scar answered.
Unbeknownst to Scar, Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, who had lost their fight, had just heard him and were furious. They backed away slowly. Without warning, Mufasa and Scar’s fight began again. It was the most ferocious part of the battle. However, as was to be expected, Mufasa was victorious. Scar found himself clutching to the side of Pride Rock, his rear legs dangling and holding himself up only by his front paws. Mufasa looked at his brother. Scar was family but he was also a great threat, a threat that had to be dealt with. Feeling remorseful at what he was about to do, Mufasa reached out and took hold of Scar’s paws. He knew what he was going to do.
“Goodbye…you who I called brother,” the king said.
And with that, Mufasa pushed Scar back. The evil lion fell for what seemed forever until, finally, he hit the ground. Somehow, he had survived, but was in a great amount of pain from the impact. Just then, he saw Shenzi, Banzai, Ed and the other hyenas approaching and looked at them.
“Ah, my friends,” he said.
“Friends? I thought he said we were the enemy!” Shenzi said.
“Yeah, that’s what I heard,” Banzai added.
Shenzi and Banzai then looked at Ed.
“Ed?” they asked in unison.
Ed merely laughed evilly. The hyenas then closed on Scar.
“No! Let me explain. No. You don't understand. No! I didn't mean for...No, No! Look, I’m sorry I called you...No! NO!” Scar began.
He was cut off as the hyenas leapt on him and killed him. After this act, the hyenas broke all ties with Zira and Nuka and fled for parts unknown. Zira and Nuka also fled. Just then, rain began to fall and the fire was extinguished. Mufasa then went to his family.
“Where is Scar?” Sarabi asked.
“I did what I should have done when I heard him plotting to kill Simba: I disposed of him,” Mufasa replied.
It was then that Mufasa headed to the promontory of Pride Rock. Once there, he unleashed a massive roar, a roar that briefly drowned out the sound of the rain. Sarabi, Simba, Vitani, Nala, Shujaa and the other lions roared in return. For now, at least, peace had returned to the Pridelands.
