Aleu just ignored Steele. The wolf just stared at Annabeth for a moment before going ahead and attacking. He wasn't going to go easy on her just because she was Luo's daughter.

The wolf didn't see it coming fast enough. He pulled away but not fast enough to completely avoid it and Annabeth's teeth left deep gashes across his nose. He winced at that but other than that didn't seem too affected.

Annabeth then tried to use her teeth to bite him around the neck area. Steele then said, "After this is over we better keep moving." He looked at the wolves, "I got a question. What makes you follow Luo and her? Stupidity?"

The wolves said, "He's one of the better leaders our pack has ever had. We wolves can seem like real jerks sometimes but we're not treacherous." The other wolf again avoided Annabeth without too much difficulty. Was he supposed to actually try and hurt her or just pin her down or something like that?

This time the wolf just smacked her jaw with his paw before she got too close. The wolf looked at him, "You can't be quiet for even five minutes can you?" none of them liked Steele at all and they all couldn't wait untill Luo finally decided to get rid of him already.
