Very good point, when I talk about what I would have liked to see in this move, yes I would have liked to see a more serious tone (although not to the point that children would not be able to watch it). and being that Comedy was what they were going for with Lion King 1 1/2 They succeeded. I particularly enjoyed seeing some of teen-aged Simba's life.

Having Timon and Pumbaa get girlfriends during TLK 1.5 who have been directly against the whole idea of them as "outcasts" and "loners." And the idea that they were both outcasts is what lead them to become friends in the first place. But I also thought TLK 1.5 was the stupidest movie Disney has ever made. It SHOULD have been a prequel concerning Mufasa and Scar's/Taka's childhood, why/how Taka got his scar, the rivalry between the two brothers.

^Simba'sGuard Me, too. It wasn't as good as the other 2, but it was entertaining, and it was cool to get to peak into Simba's teen life. If anything, I would've like to see a movie of TLK about the first king ever to rule, and how being king all got started. Hopefully I can see to the creation of that movie someday.

And thank you, I'm a big Kimba fan and I like Panja the best.

I believe that would have made a very good movie. it would also have been neat so see Sarabi. Sarafina, and Zira as cubs. I also agree that having Timon and Pumbaa have love interests in Lion King 1 1/2 would have been a continuity error that would have ruined the movie.
@ LavishLioness: seeing how the Pride Lands first came to be under the rule of the first great Lion King would be an awesome movie. I'd love to see it.
Panja is great too I love how he was portrayed as being pure white in the 1989 series.

Dumb question perhaps but what is Panja? I ran a search for it on Netflix and nothing came up. Under a search for Kimba I only get the 1965-ish tv series that I netflixed during the fall.

OKay so I guess it's just the Japanese names. The version I saw Kimba's dad was Caesar.

You are absolutely right StarlightLioness, Caesar is Panja's American name.

The only problem I have with that is that I find when a story distances itself too far from the original characters I will rapidly loose interest in it. However you idea does solve the problem of how to have Simba And Nala die (which is also part of the circle of life) without having to have it be a major plot point (not to mention I don't think I would react well to their passing  ).
