Simba knew that he had the perfect taunting opportunity. That small tree was scary? Oh, you need to get up something bigger! Kamari looked like he was going to murder him, so Simba continued. But for your first try, that wasn't so bad. Kamari looked confused at the sudden compliment, then looked a little embarrassed, and muttered his thanks. But you still needed help! Simba said, barely able to contain his laughter.

Kamari got the point and both started laughing hard. Even Timon and Pumbaa laughed with them. When Simba finished laughing, he got a little serious again. You'll get better with practice. All that you need is a bit of time time.

Meanwhile, Timon and Pumbaa were discussing something with each other. When they finished, Pumbaa cleared his voice. No more trees fore now. Now, it's schooling time! Timon and I will teach you the ways of... and with Timon: Hakuna Matata!

Timon lead the others into the jungle, ready for their new life...

OOC: okay here goes. when do want to bring delano in?

A year or two later, Kamari and Simba were now teenagers. Kamari had learned all the tips and tricks of climbing. He was now almost even better than Simba. He was also faster, "Hey Simba! How about another race!" Kamari shouted. This was about the 5th time today Kamari asked Simba to a race and the 5th Simba had gotten beaten in a race with Kamari.

Simba was still tired from their previous race. No way! You always win. How about something else? Kamari snickered, calling Simba a sore looser. Simba didn't take it well. At least I can pin you, you sore winner! How about I challenge you to a wrestling match! Kamari's smile dropped, and he quickly declined getting pinned by Simba yet again. This got them no where.

So what can we do? asked Simba. His stomach rumbled. His diet of bugs no longer seemed filling. Kamari was going through a similar problem. Kamari shrugged. Simba smiled. I know what I would do. I would catch some lunch, but I can't hunt. Kamari quickly agreed.

You'll come for the sunshine, but you'll stay for your friends. a strange voice said from above their heads. Simba and Kamari looked up. Simba rolled his eyes, and muttered to Kamari, looks like we have a visitor.

From the trees jumped down a leopard. It wore a grin of a winner. Heard you guys can't hunt. And I was bored, so I figured, I can teach you how. Will kill a few days until I can come up with another way to pass the time.. The leopard looked young, not much older than Simba or Kamari.

Simba groaned. And what would you know? You don't look old enough to be very good at hunting. How do I know you're not bluffing?

If anything, the comment made the leopard smile even more. Look kid, you look like you are about two months. I have the skill to have been observing you for the past few days without ever being spotted. One of the first things you should have been taught is that not everything is as it seems. I can hunt you down, and you won't even notice.

Simba nudged Kamari. Leopard here is so full of himself.

The leopard heard him, and nodded understandingly. Yes, that is true. Another flaw of mine is that I believe I know everything, but as far as you two are concerned, that part is true. Want to bet me wrong?

Kamari growled, "What right do you have to barge in on us like this? Watching us without us even knowing?" he bared his teeth and flattened his ears. "But still..... Um....what do think Simba? But I'm not happy. I can run faster than you both." Kamari trotted around showing off his long and brisk legs. "Let me show you how fast I can run!" Kamari brought the two to the dry river bed. He placed them next to his route where he was going to run. "Watch this! I'll run to that tree and back!" he took off running like the wind, at 70 miles an hour (Yes Cheetahs REALLY DO go that fast) he just ran towards the oasis. As the leopard and Simba watched, Simba was just amazed at how fast he could run. He asked the leopard if Kamari would be a good hunter.

The leopard laughed. Kid, if speed was everything, cheetahs would be kings, and pray wouldn't stand a chance. You also need turning ability, for one thing. If that oasis were pray, would it just stand there and wait patiently to get killed? Nah, it would run. And a smart pray would turn. Remember, the faster you go, the straighter you run. You know a great way to outrun a cheetah? Watch me. Oi, cheetah, get over here!

Kamari stopped and came back. He grinned broadly, commenting how even the leopard can't run that fast. The leopard flashed an unnerving smile. Cheetah, I want you to chase me down. You will need to make contact, coming close won't cut it. Got it? Wait until I get to that tree there, and try and get me. While Kamari waited for the leopard to get to the tree, and taking his time at it, he commented how it will be quick and easy to get the leopard. No harder than outrunning Simba.

Simba nodded, but he had a feeling that this leopard knew what he was doing. The leopard got to the tree and shouted for Kamari to get him. Immediately, Kamari was off, and gaining at the leopard, who ran as he could away from the cheetah. At first, Simba thought that Kamari would indeed have no trouble in getting the leopard.

That is until the leopard slowed down as though tired, and right before Kamari got to him, jumped to the side and ran off again in the opposite direction. Kamari nearly tripped as he tried to get the leopard, and suddenly found himself in a wild chase with the leopard. Kamari had speed, but whenever he would start gaining, the leopard would swerve to the side and turn, forcing Kamari to slow down and start over. Eventually, he got too tired and gave up, panting over to Simba.

The leopard came over. Told ya. More than just speed. Couldn't get me. Kamari nodded and swung a paw at the leopard hard. The leopard fell on the ground, but got up instantly, with a wild grin. You got some attitude! I like that. If you can't get the pray, let the pray get to you. You know, teaching you two how to hunt might not be such a bad idea. So are you in, or out? Name's Delano, by the way.

OCC: "Pray" as in prey animals is spelled "Prey". And When I mean "dumb" I don't mean you in anyway.

Kamari growled at the leopard as he got up. "I'm out! You dumb leopard. I can teach myself how to hunt just fine!" he ran into the jungle leaving Delano and Simba alone. He just ran to the log above the river and sat down. "Who needs that leopard anyways?" he just looked at himself in the water, he fell asleep, tired from his run.

Simba watched as Kamari stormed away, furious. He turned, angry at Delano. What was that for? Think you're so smart? I don't think so! Simba turned and followed Kamari. But before he got very far, he got stopped as Delano jumped right in front of him, blocking his path. Get out of my way! Simba growled.

Delano didn't budge. This time, there was anger in his eyes. With an attitude like that, how do you expect to learn anything? You must think that I was always this successful? Well think again! If you want to know how to hunt, I will recommend someone who knows how. If you try on your own, I will almost guarantee you that you will get yourself killed. I've seen others die learning how to hunt. I learned from my own mistakes. If you don't want to learn, then fine. If you want to learn, you can take my word that no one else lives in this jungle who will bother teaching you. I'll be waiting by the oasis tomorrow morning. If you won't be there, I will leave, and not come back. With that, Delano jumped up a tree and disappeared.

Simba caught a glimpse of him in the trees, and then went off to find Kamari. He spotted the cheetah sleeping on the log. Figuring to let the cheetah sleep, he left to go and find Timon and Pumbaa.

While Simba left to find Timon and Pumbaa to tell them about their encounter with Delano, Kamari was still sleeping on the log. He had slept for a while when he suddenly heard a loud cry for help. "Oh, now what?" another scream for help had gotten Kamari to his feet. "Uh, Simba...? Simba?" he got up and ran for Simba. "Simba! I was sleeping near the river when I heard someone scream for help a minute ago, I-I think we should go check it out. It sounded pretty serious"

Simba was busy telling Timon and Pumbaa about Delano when he thought he heard a scream. Hey, guys, did you hear something? he asked. His ears perked up when he heard a second scream. Without waiting for either Timon or Pumbaa, he bolted towards Kamari, and met the cheetah already running towards him. One look into Kamari's face confirmed that he heard the screaming as well. Where did it come from? Asked Simba franticly.

Kamari shook his head, not knowing. But as if to answer Simba's question, another scream tore through the jungle. Kamari and Simba both turned and ran towards the source, Kamari tearing ahead of Simba, hoping that they were not too late.
