I think the problem a lot of people have is that they take it all to seriously. I mean it's two silly characters making funnies and having a good time in some familiar places. I don't think it was ever supposed to be as grand as the Lion King, after all Disney tried that with Simba's Pride and most fans I see seem to be unhappy with that so it's not like they'd try again.
