Kodi noticed something in Steele's words. He would offer them? Did that mean that Annabeth was not with her father? "Where is she?!"

Steele laughed, "You'll find out. You are to follow me or it will be me killing your mate."

Kodi didn't even look at Kirby. He just looked at Steele and said, "Lead."

Steele just nodded and hit him on the head. "Carry him back to Aleu. Remember that she will die if you don't do what I said." Meanwhile Steele went to Luo, "Why Luo! I have given you your daughter," he pointed to Annabeth unconscious, "but to get Kodi you must do something for me."

Luo just looked at Steele, "What do you want?"

Steele smiled, "Why I want the respect of the dogs in this town again. You manage to do that Kodi and Balto are yours. Don't blame me if I don't trust you enough to give them right now."

Luo laughed, "I can't give you that."

Steele then said, "Then no Kodi, Aleu, or Balto."

Luo said, "Look, I'm a wolf. If there's one thing I can't do then that's to get a dog to do something. You want their respect, you'll have to earn it." 'Like that would ever happen.'

(( You do know that Steele is not going to get their respect. They hate him after what he had done with the medicine, not to mention that he helped the wolves one night ago. ))

Steele smiled, "Well okay then I guess I'll hand Kodi and Aleu over, that is if you really want them."
