Laini sighed once and then looked at Tamu, her friend, "Maybe we can practice our hunting or something?" to herself she was thinking '...again' Nothing interesting ever happened in her boring chosen-for-her life. An adolescent's life should be exciting or what not, but not for her. She had to be the 'perfect and polite' little princess. Her parents never allowed her anything else. Even worse, she couldn't even choose her own mate. She rolled over on her side and just lay in the sun, feeling bored.

Tamu was equally as bored as was so deep in thought about what they could possibly do to have fun that it took a while for Laini words to sink into her brain. "Ugh at this rate we should be the best hunters in the world" she said resting her head on her paws as she pouted at the idea. She'd been Laini's friend since cubhood and she knew how life was for the princess, fir this reason she made it her job to try and conjure up something that was at least a little interesting that her parents would allow her to do. 'Yeah right, like that'll ever happen' she thought.

Laini let out a sigh, "Why yes." she went ahead and quoted her parents, "'A good princess is a good hunter'" she said it with an annoyed sigh. "I can't even remember whether it was my mother who said that or whether it was my father." she tried to look at the bright side, "At least that bragging Gakuru's not around now." as cubs he was a close friend of her, but ever since her parents betrothed her to him he changed for the worst.

Tamu let out and annoyed sigh at the mere mentioning of the name. "Oh don't remind me" she said now frowning at the thought of the lion. She still couldn't understand how such a good friend could turn out to be like that. She then got up and did and exaggerated impression of the 'future king' "I'm the next ruler so all of you have to do what I say, hey gimme that zebra because I'm future king, it doesn't matter that I'm a stupid jerk because I'm gonna be king" she said all the while doing silly faces and strutting about with her head held high.

Laini couldn't help but laugh as Tamu did her imitation of the lion, thinking that it was pretty good. She sighed as she remembered what a good friend he was before everything happened, "Now he's just like my dad... Not listening to me at all..." if only he had some of his old side left in him he might have listened to her when she poured her heart in front of him telling him that she wanted her real friend back. But no, all he did was laugh and ignore her pleadings.

Tamu sat down next to her friends and smiled. "At least you still have me here for you" she said. She had always been Laini's friends and she wasn't going to let that change no matter what. Then a mischievous grin came to her face as she spoke. "Who knows, maybe you'll meet someone even better" she said more as a friendly joke to cheer up laini. She knew all too well her father wouldn't change his mind about Gakuru being future king even if they tried to reason with him.

Laini usually laughed at her friend's joke, but she obviously found that last one not funny at all. "It's possible, but even if I did... My parents would not approve..." she knew that is she had a choice she would leave that pride and start a new life. But it wasn't like there were friendly lions everywhere out there. If she did leave, she was most likely to die out there, and that's what kept her from doing so. However she began doubting that reason as she regarded the way her precious little life looked. The only good thing in her life was having a good friend like Tamu by her side, "At least you can meet someone who you'll actually love." she might have loved Gakuru if he still was the same lion he was back when they were cubs, but that lion was long gone.

Tamu sighed and and hung her head, her attempts to cheer her friend up seemed to be failing. Hearing the last thing Laini said Tamu's ears perked and she smiled. "Thanks Laini, but I'll never leave your side no matter what" she said truthfully, she really would try her best to be at Laini's side. Loosing one childhood friend was enough.

Laini couldn't help but smile at what Tamu was saying, "Thanks Tamu. I'm so glad you're here with me." Still, she hoped that her friend would get a chance of finding true love, even if that did mean for hear to get out of Laini's life. She didn't deserve to have her life not moving forward just because of Laini and her horrible luck. Then again, it obviously didn't matter at the moment.

Tamu smiled and stood up, happily jumping a round a little. She was always happy to sheer Laini up. "What so we go practice out hunting like you said, it'll help give us something else to think about" she said hoping to take their minds, but more importantly Liani's mind off Gakuru and her parents. "Not like your parents are gonna start telling you what and when to hunt" she said liking the fact that hunting was one of the things at Liani had the freedom of choice in.
