The wolves laughed, "You should have thought about it before." This caused Kodi to growl. Suddenly a sound came from the other side of the group, the opposite direction to where Kodi was standing. The wolves were immediately on alert. All of them went over to the bushes on the other side besides one. "Hey, that's a wolf!" Kodi immediately realised that this was the wolf he saw a moment ago, 'She's not a part of this pack?" he was completely confused. But he saw his oppertunity now that all the wolves besides one were gone chasing the stranger.

Annabeth noticed that the wolves were gone except one for some reason. "What happened?"

The wolf rolled his eyes, "Some unfamilliar white wolf." suddenly however the wolf dropped onto the ground and was not moving. A sigh came from behind Annabeth, "Can you walk?" it was Kodi.

Annabeth looked surprised, "Kodi?" However she started feeling pain. "I...they tortured me. We've got to get out of here before my father returns or he'll kill you!"

Kodi nodded, He put Annabeth on his back and began carrying her, "I'm sorry I couldn't help you sooner..."

Annabeth laughed, "What are you sorry for? It was me who was foolish. I turned myself in so none of the dogs would be killed in the town."

Kodi looked around at her, "You did?" he was surprised by that statement. He smiled.

Annabeth just laughed and grimaced in pain. "Yes. Kodi I hope nothing bad happened to..."

Kodi tried to sound positive, "I'm sure it's nothing. Just a few cuts."
