What actually killed Zira?

Yes, but we all saw how dangerous the water was, the currents in that would be pretty strong. Whereas the river Little Creek and Spirit fall into is calmer, if my memory doesn't deceive me.[/quote]
The river that they jump into is huge with very strong currents, it has large pieces of worn away rock coming up from the river floor, and Spirit managed to have Rain on his back for half the ride, and then they fell down the waterfall. When you see the next next scene, they are completely unharmed except for the gunshot wound on Rain. So, yeah....

Back on topic!!! hehehe, I think it was just the water currents that pushed her down, and then the logs took the breath out of her. And you guys know where it looks like Zira is tries to swipe at Kiara's paw? it could have just been that, but I also think that since the cliffside was very steep and she barely had a grip, it would have been a very difficult moment trying to get one of your forelegs up there and managing the rest of your weight with the other one. The angry face you say? Maybe one of hard effort :3. My opinion given.

If anyone ever did a belly flop, they know it hurts. Even though you might think that water is soft, unless you dive into it just correctly (minimize drag and surface area on impact), it's like hitting a concrete wall. If Zira wasn't killed by the impact of the water (she might have lived), she would have surely not been in any condition to fight to survive in the very hard, fast flowing current. Not to mention how many rocks she was swept into...

Okay, serious now. I'm pretty sure she drowned D: Maybe not immediately, but eventually. Even if she could swim, she would've tired quickly, because the current seemed way too strong for her to fight it, or to reach the surface. Come to think of it, it's not even a surface >_> Just rock walls everywhere. Yeah, I'm certain she drowned.

Her not dying is an interesting thought, though not very likely, in my opinion.

She just fell into water, it's actually likely she didn't die and is just biding her time somewhere until Kiara and Kovu have cubs.

I think she killed herself and intentionally let go to disturb Kiara and because she didn't want to stoop to, what was in her mind, Simba's low level.

But I think the intensity of the rushing current was too much for her.

So noone thinks it was the logs? I mean, I think it was the current, but we see the logs hit her (when she raises her paw and it is pushed under by the log) so it is a possibility that the logs had something to do with it.
