You're right! He does say that!

Ohh! And I voted for Simba. I see him as the lion king. The story is about him and he is in both the sequels.. So I voted for him :)

To be honest, I think it's about the line of the lion kings. Mufasa being first  , then Scar , then Simba. 8-)

I think it's about the blood line of the kings, and Disney shows us different types of kings. First there is the big, wise, and gentle giant king, Mufasa. Then there is the wicked, scrawny, and shrewd king, Scar. Then last but not least, Simba, who was supposed to be the greatest lion of them all. I think he was more rigid and less easy-going in the sequel though. Then in the end, he finally forgives everything about the past and lets it go.

I think Kopa would have been the next Lion King in the blood line, but because Kiara was in the sequel, she was the Lion Queen. :pretty:

So I am going to choose "Other". Because it isn't about any lion in particular, it was about the blood line. Though, this is my opinion and I could be wrong. But yes, that's what I think. :innocent:

Nope, I don't think you're wrong ;) The lion king is like an idol, that nobody ever really fulfills, and that everyone's measured against.

'We are one' - Simba
'We are all connected in the great cirle of life' - Mufasa

Makes me think that sometimes the mvies were created to join people together

In this case, I can easily say that it was referring to Simba, since if it was in regards to Mufasa, than The Lion King would have died before the movie even got underway. >.> Yeah, Mufasa was The Lion King at the start, but like Moka stated, the main story is focused upon Simba, so that's most likely who Disney was referring to. The Other option is also possible though, since it does refer to a ruler in general. ^^ What I'd like to know though is, in TLK2SP and TLK 1 1/2, THEN, who does the title reflect? lol. ^^ Couldn't be Kiara. Couldn't be Timon or Pumbaa. lol. Guess the title was only befitting for the first movie. ^^ Must be why they at least added a subtitle to TLK2SP, just to make it work. ^^ Can't say the same for TLK 1 1/2, unless you count the TLK 3: Hakuna Matata that some countries got. ^^

huh... true.

Though if you say that "the lion king" is a story essentially about passing the torch, with the circle of life moving onwards, you can make a case that it works for TLK2. Simba teaching Kiara in We are One, and Kiara asserting herself later. She doesn't replace Simba, but she's definitely a (the?) deciding factor in the end of the movie.

And as TLK1.5 is a parallel story, you can say that the lion king is still Simba in that as well =)

Very true. ^^ Although it would have been cool to see a Lion Queen movie. :) Disney likes to keep the male gender role domanant though it seems. >.> At least, back then they did. hehe. ^^

I think both. But because Mohatu was the first king,(Even though he's not on the chart) I'll go with Mohatu.

I think the title is refering to Simba and Mufasa. Mufasa, being the "Lion King" first then Simba. Unfortunately, Mufasa dies and now Simba takes his place as "The Lion King". Nobody will ever know. But only if they ask Disney.
