Yeah, Kovu is an epic character and hero. His struggle with his 'dark past' is a really great story.

Eh...I liked him as a cub, but he kinda lost my love for him when he went all googly eye for Kiara.

Kovu is the best hero in the TLK series, he's not just your run-of-the-mill hero. He starts off as a villain and turns completely around. That takes some effort.
