I hate Timon and Pumbaa.

I remember in the early stages of TLK Timon and Pumbaa didn't exist. They were basically written in as filler/comedy relief when the movie started to get heavy. Nathan Lane in an interview with AFI originally read for one of the Hyena's (with Ernie Sabella no less) the ended up basically creating Timon and Pumbaa for them.

Did it go over line having them in the gorge when then stampede happen? Maybe. But it's parody. Parody doesn't follow what you would consider conventional wisdom. It's poking fun at the source material. That's it's whole reason for existing. It'd be like Star Wars fans ripping on Spaceballs because there's no R2D2-like character anywhere in the film.

I guess so. I think is was intentionally insulting the Stampede scene. Poking fun at Mufasa's death isn't right.

Yeah, TLK1/2 mocked TLK! So I thought it was offensive that they went ahead and put Timon and Pumbaa in the gorge D=<

It had its good moments. If I have to go into more detail, I would say that it's a good thing I didn't know about 1.5 until Youtube came along.

Thanks for agreeing It mocked everything Mufasa was before he died. It mocked his bravery. His determination. And it mocked his death, which shouldn't be something to use for comedic purposes.

Most of the movie mocked The Lion King. I can count the scenes that didn't mock it on one hand off the top of my head. And they all fall within a few minutes. The Lion Sleeps Tonight, anyone?

Exactly. The hole movie was a mockery of the masterpeice of TLK. But out of all the mocking, I hate the gorge mockery the most. I mean, not only does it mess with Mufasa's death, but since when is there a waterfall at the end of the gorge?! O.o
