A Rogue's Destiny [Private: S66, Rogue, FallenAngel]

Kovu came upon the scene almost before he noticed he was there. Shari was working beautifully, that pathetic Pridelander was in his grips and fast on the way to death. He hid in the bushes nearby, he would strike when the little runt was dead and Kiara was under threat. He revelled in this, if only he could do some killing himself, but alass, he must play the hero. Kovu obliged himself to simply watch the glory unfold. A storm was brewing, that could spell trouble, but he would make the most of the time he had left. It was time for revenge.

Shari lifted himself off the ground while maintaining his grip on Tivana. He could feel her bone in his paw through her flesh. She was a strong lioness, and she had put up a good fight. But it was over. Even if she managed to escape, Shari knew her weakness and could take her down with ease. All he had to do was find this Tuva. Kiara threatened Shari to let her go. But Shari only looked at her and smiled. He was following the mission to alienate himself from the Pride Lands. But he didn't care. As long as he could complete the mission and have a little fun on the way.

Just then, something caught his eye. Kovu had arrived. Hiding in the nearby bushes, Shari saw this, but kept his eyes on the lionesses. If he took his eyes off the two for even a moment, he'd pay for it. And suddenly, Tivana took one final slash as Shari's face. It slashed into his right eye horizontally. He jerked his head to the side and cried in pain. But he didn't release Tivana from his grip. Shari could feel the blood running down his muzzle. He could only imagine how it looked now. "You will pay for that!" Shari yelled as he raised his free paw to strike Tivana.

But he was unable to finish the attack. For not but 50 yards away, Simba and Nala ran to the group. Shari cursed in his mind as he kept his paw in the air. Thinking about his options. He could finish Tivana and make Kovu look even better but... every second was precious to fulfill the mission. Shari sighed and gave Kovu a side glance. Shari shook his head so slightly, that nobody would have noticed except for Kovu. It was time for the 'hero' to jump in.

-------

Simba ran onto the scene with blazing speed. "Kiara!" He cried out, glaring at the outsider. His right eye bared the scar that Scar had had... but there was another scar on his right eye that made the scar into an X. He was clearly evil, but his intentions, Simba did not know. All he knew was that he had tried to kill Kiara, and that would not stand in his kingdom! Simba roared at the outsider with vigor and strength, as Shari finally released his grip on Tivana... but not because of Simba's appearance.

Kovu launched himself between Kiara and Shari before launching an immediate attack on his friend. He was disgusted by the fact that they had not gotten to kill that pathetic wretch, but that could be dealt with later. With the immediate intention of getting Shari out of here, Kovu attacked Shari's bleeding leg, freeing Tivani and knocking Shari off balance. He drove in then forcing Shari to back off. With a wink he roared then, as if to show his "heroic" prowess, this was all great fun. Now just for the "King" to step in.

Tivana felt the lion let go of her leg. She sighed loudly, then looked up to Simba, Nala, and Kiara. Her leg had become numb in pain. She looked at the two lions, the new one that had pulled him off of her.

"Tivana!" Kiara exclaimed, running over. She nuzzled her friend quickly, before looking back at her parents. She wanted to curse her father for breaking his promise, but decided not to. She kept a stance over Tivana.

Tivana sighed, laying her head back down as the rain began to fall. She failed to make Simba proud, she failed. She closed her eyes as tears stung and started to trickle down her face.

Kovu kept his fake menacing look on Shari, careful not to turn his back and look fake. A real opponent would kill him if he turned away. He continued to glare silently at his friend, secretly chuckling all the while, this was great, the Pridelanders were completely oblivious to what was happening. This was the best time of his life, if only it would end more quickly. Just the thought of his impending stay in the Kingdom made him ill, why did it have to be so difficult?

Shari bled from his leg and his face. The battle had certainly taken its toll on him. But seeing Tivana lay on the ground in physical and emotional distress was more than enough of a victory. And soon enough, he would have his revenge. But right now, Shari stared into Kovu's eyes. His perfect form contrasted with that of Shari's rugged battle scars. But it was all in good fun. When he returned to the Outlands, he would be treated as a hero. He would have food, water, and finally... love.

"You! What are you doing here?!" Shari roared loudly at Kovu. Making sure to not use his name. That would hurt the chances of success. Shari started circling Kovu, limping on his shredded leg and wincing from his new scar.

-------

Simba readied himself to leap at the battle-worn outsider, when out of nowhere, another outsider took his chance. Simba stood, dumbfounded as to what he was witnessing. But he had more important details to worry about. While the two outsiders stared each other down, Simba ran over to Kiara and Tivana. Though he was concerned mostly with Kiara, he noticed that Tivana was badly injured. And it wouldn't be right for him to only care for his daughter in the midst of this travesty. "Are you two alright?" What a stupid question. Tivana was injured gravely. And if they didn't get her back to Pride Rock for some rest, she might be crippled forever. Simba changed his glare back to the outsiders, though he didn't know which one to focus on.

"You're not hurting anyone, not now, not ever again..." Kovu said with fake seriousness, capitalizing with a growl, a loud menacing one that showed he "meant business". This was a great time, he only wished that pathetic cripple would die already, why did she have to fight and hurt Shari? He certainly hoped Zira had been watching, Shari deserved credit for his victory this day, even if no one else knew it. He kept his eyes on shari, growling fiercely as he bared his teeth. "Now leave..."

Shari almost broke down laughing. His best friend was also a great actor. Who knew? Though Shari wanted to build up the drama a bit more so that Kovu would have a better chance, Shari felt his leg starting to go numb again. He would have to finish this fast if he wanted to escape from the Pride Lands. "I'll leave this world when I'm ready." Shari echoed in a hushed whisper. The rain started to pick up and a lightning bolt crashed in the distance. The storm would help Shari hide his tracks when he fled, but until then, it would also be a burden to fight in the rain. He looked back up at Kovu. "But you'll meet me there!"

Shari lunged at Kovu, repeating what had happened the day before when his life had been spared. However, a few changes had been made. Shari's intentions were no longer bent on hurting his one and only friend. He aimed for the ground right in-front of Kovu. But with the rain and the angle, it looked like he was really aiming for Kovu.

------

Simba didn't know what to make of this. What was happening? Should he get in the fray and break up this fight? Or should he just leave? Maybe he should stay to ensure Tivana made it okay? He was lost for ideas. And soon enough, he was drawn into the battle. For some reason, he wanted to see who would win. He hadn't known either of these lions at one point... had he? Whatever the case, he moved in-front of Kiara to make sure nobody would hurt her.

Kovu dodged the attack and countered with a swipe with his paw, this was great. He hadn't wanted Shari to further expend himself, but at least the show would be good, and it would see more time for Tivani, or whatever her name was to bleed. Kovu snarled and whirled about to look back at Shari, placing him in Simba's line of sight, how he hoped he wouldn't recognize him yet, that would ruin everything. He ensured that it appeared that this was taking effort, panting with mock stress, man it felt good to at last be doing this...

Shari quickly dodged Kovu's counter attack and swung back at his friend aiming just barely out of range of his friend's muzzle. Glancing at his leg, he knew that he'd have to get out of the vicinity as soon as possible. It was still bleeding, not as heavily as before, but still more than it should have been at all. The sooner Kovu proved himself to be a "hero", the sooner Shari could head back to the Outlands. He gave Kovu a quick look letting him know to wrap up the "fight" with the next hit. For the sake of them both.

-------

Simba stared at the two Outlanders going all out on each other. What would his father do in a situation like this? Whether one of them was fighting to protect Kiara and the other lions in the area, or for revenge against the other Outsider? Suddenly, it hit Simba, he had to get Tivana out of there. She was wounded and would need immediate attention to help her pull through.

"Nala, take Tivana and get back to Pride Rock." Simba said to his mate. Nala gave him a quick nod and walked over to the injured Tivana. "Tivana dear, I know you're hurt, but you have to try to get up." Even though Simba had said for Nala to take Tivana, he didn't figure that Kiara would leave. Not in a situation like this.
