"But Dad, I wanna do some Kingly stuff!" He moaned, begging his father to let him do this kind of stuff. Simba spoke then Kopa dropped his head. "I wouldn't get asked I would be out doing Kingly things." He smirked giggling to himself. Suddenly Nala spoke, kopa lifted his head, "Fine, I'll play, but when I come back. I want to do kingly things!" He spoke, making a deal. "Come on Sheba!" He smiled, a little more enthusiastic since after he might be doing lion work. Just then, a strange lion came. Kopa was startled but tried to be strong looking.

"Go, Kopa. We'll talk later. Be respectful and make Sheba feel welcome. Also, stay within sight of Pride Rock," Simba stated in a tone that made it clear that his words were a command and not a suggestion. For a few moments, he watched the cubs, waiting to see if Kopa would obey.

Sheba bounded down the path wiating for Kopa to catch up. "I wonder what his favorite game is?" Sheba thought, "I'll bet it's chase or rough and tumble" her thoughts were interrupted as a butterfly glided across her path and she swiped at it with her paw.

Simba watched as Kopa left, happy that his son was doing as he was told. Still, he planned to have that conversation with him tonight about his rudeness. Hopefully, after this, he would never behave like that again.

"Hurry up. I have a good play spot!" He yelled, running towards a field. He stopped right in-front of the tall grass. " He will play tag. Rules are-" He dramatically stopped. "YOU'RE IT!!" He tagged Sheba and ran into the tall grass. Dodging trees and rocks in his path. He ran out of breath and crawled into a log. Sheba ran right past the log.

Unknown to Kopa, the other inhabitant of the log was awakening, and was angry from the lack of a fresh kill for almost a week. "Get out." Kas'im said. "Now. As he awoke, he realized the mistake he made in challenging a lion. Oh well, he decided, this lion looked young enough to bluff. "If you do not get out of my sight in ten, no, uh, five seconds, I will kill you. Or, no, I'll just hurt you... BUT, but you'll wish you were dead."Kas'im wondered what a dog like him tasted like. He knew the lion might find out.

Sheba called out to him and said" hey, that's not fair!" as he disappeard into the grass. She was gigleing as was looking in the tall grasses, not even seeing the log.
She couldn't find him, not even a paw print. She was starting to get worried about him, because several minuites had past and there was still no sign of him. She decided to ask the audlts to help her look for him. She then went to Nala and said "I can't find Kopa, we were playing and, I looked all over, and, he's not there" she blurted out. She was embarrassed that she couldn't find him.

"W-Who are you!" Kopa turned around. Backing away from the creature. "And, What are you?!" Kopa asked confused giggling yet, still scared. "My dad is king! If you come near me, he'll - he'll eat you alive!" Kopa said growling, with his tail up.

"I am Kas'im." said he, hoping he sounded big and important, but most likely not. Inching towards the hole in the rear of the log, he continued. "Black-backed Jackal! And there's a pack of African Dogs coming to see where I got to, so you'd better scram before we have you for breakfast. So, um, scram?"

Penda was an elder member of the Wild dog pack that had raised Kas'im. Right now, she was busy searching for him. Finally, she found him in some sort of confrontation with a lion cub, who she recognized as Prince Kopa, son of King Simba and Queen Nala. She went over to Kas'im. "Kas'im, why did you leave the pack without telling anyone?!" she began.
