Title: OOTPL 2: Zira's Return

Story: This picks up a short time after Kopa's presentation at the end of OOTPL. Kopa is now an energetic and happy young cub (in this, he is not a Simba clone and looks more like Nala). Early on, two lions, a male named Nyundo and his mate Maua, and their white-furred daughter Sheba, come to Pride Rock and are accepted into the pride. Sheba's parents befriend Simba and Nala, while Sheba befriends Kopa. At this same time, however, Zira is ready to take revenge on the royal family for Scar's betrayal of her and enlists the help of an Outlander-type male lion name Kali. Together, they become the parents of Vitani. The family then waits, knowing that their time to strike will come soon. Other new characters include the hotheaded male jackal Kas'im, who befriends Kopa and Sheba. Lastly, Nala's rogue father, Shujaa, a tan-furred lion with a reddish-gold mane, returns.

It was early morning and Kopa was wide awake waiting for his father to awaken. "Ahh, lovely day out!" He whispered as he lied down at the edge of Pride Rock watching the sun rise. He smiled to himself, then as the sun came up, he could feel the warm rays beating against his skin. it was soothing after a cold night in the den. He closed his eyes and sighed. Every morning was like this, just this one felt different. He put his head down and his Brownish-red tuff got in his face. He flipped it up again then watched the animals of the pride lands slowly awaken. Including his parents.

Nala awakened, "Good morning Kopa" she said. She got up, stretched and let out an almighty yawn. Nala went over to her son and gave him a nuzzle, "Sunny, isn't it?". She lay down beside her son.

Meanwhile, Sarafina was down at the waterhole, she'd been awake half an hour before Kopa. She was thinking about all that had happened these past months, "My beautiful daughter is now happily Queen along side her mate Simba and now she has a grandson". She lapped up the water contently.

Simba woke up and yawned. He went over to Kopa. "Good morning, Kopa," he told his son. In many ways, Kopa reminded the king of when he was a cub, in the times before Mufasa had been murdered and Sarabi and the other lionesses had taken him and Nala to the jungle. Now, with Scar dead, that time was only a distant memory. He looked at Nala. "Good morning," he told her.

[Cyrus]

A lioness on the border of the Pride Lands and Outlands gave a mighty roar as she looked at Pride Rock with murderous eyes. It was Zira! She wasn't the normal Zira anymore, having been not only stolen of her queen title and exiled from the pride, but betrayed by the love of her life, Scar! These events turned Zira into a rather unstable lioness who was pure evil and wanted nothing, but revange. To the sky she shouted, "You'll all rule the day you double crossed me! You'll see, I shall return, and when I do...." Zira stopped with a wicked smirk on her face followed by an evil chuckle. "You'll beg for death!" And with that she gave one last roar and ran off out of the Pride Lands and into the horizion.

Simba smiled at Nala as they watched Kopa play. "He's just like we were when we were his age, isn't he?" he asked. However, Simba was hoping that Kopa wouldn't do some of the things he had done when he was a cub, such as wander off to explore dangerous places.

[Cyrus]

"Good morning sire!" Said Zazu as he decended from the skies and gave a bow to Simba. "Your majesty, there is a young rogue lion who wishes to speak to you sir. He appears to have come in peace and claims he and his family wish to join our pride. Shall I tell him you will be with him momentarily?"

In the Pride Lands just a few feet from Pride Rock was the lion Zazu was talking about, Nyundo. He, his wife, and their daughter had traveled from their home land to the Pride Lands hoping it would provide a better life for their daughter. He was alone as his wife and daughter stayed behind in a near by cave.

Simba looked up when Zazu spoke. "Sure, Zazu, send him here," he stated. Simba called Kopa to his side in case this was a trick of the new lion to take his pride.

Zazu left and returned with the rogue. "Your highness." He spoke with a bow. "I am Nyundo and have come with my family from a distant land. My wife and I ask to be apart of your pride in hopes to raise our beautiful daughter here." He had kept his bow.

Simba listened to Nyundo intently as he spoke. He was initially a bit worried about accepting a strange lion into the group, but Nyundo didn't seem to be a particularly hostile lion, and, after conferring with Nala, deciding to go ahead and allow him in. "Very well, Nyundo. You may join, as long as you and your family remain loyal. May we meet your family?" he said.
