Mufasa, Taka and Close Ones: The Younger Days

Uru: Never say that about yourself again! You hear me? Do you? You're damn father's just an airhead. You shouldn't worry about him. You got me, right, baby?

Zuzu smiled warmly and said to herself: A boy needs a loving mother, too, and Uru is just that...

"Zuzu's right, Highness," Mipa said. "Besides, the king's on his royal duties. No way I could catch up to him! I'll speak to him over dinner, like Zuzu said."

Mipa then rolled over as if to go back to sleep, but when Taka reappeared, she listened to his mother's reply.

"Taka," she said, an idea suddenly occuring to her, "Would you like me to teach you how to make traps? That's where I get most of my food, you know. I've always figured you for the brainy type. Maybe you'd be the first lion I'm able to teach?"

Zuzu muttered to Uru: Taka's not much in the way of strength, but that kid's got brains. I think it would be a good oppurtunity for him if Mipa taught him how to make traps.

Uru agreed with a simple nod of the head.

Uru: Great thinking, Mipa. Clever as always. My son would be delighted to learn some new skills, right?

Taka said nothing.

Uru... maybe you can amaze your dad with your smarts!

Taka's ears picked up and his eyes enlarged with spirit.

Zuzu: Milady, this is gonna go well.

Taka went up to his mother's paws
"you really think my dad will be proud?!" Taka's extra chin fur swayed back and forth as he pressed his mother

Uru: Oh, absolutely, baby. Your dad would be impressed. I just know it.

Uru winked at her son, which filled him with so much enthusiasm he almost burst.

About an hour later, Mipa began explaining the basics of what she planned to teach Taka.
