MLKFAA Suggestion

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

MLKFAA Suggestion

Postby SummerSnowLeopard » February 19th, 2011, 10:01 am

I have a suggestion for the MLKFAA. Well, two suggestions.

1 - Would it be possible to have maybe two or three MLKFAA Mods? Because I've seen alot of artwork that breaks the rules (traced screencaps, edited works, non TLK stuff, ect.) And sometimes, that "artwork" stays up there for a few days or hours before its removed. In that time, the work gets comments and veiws and fans that it shouldn't have/deserve. I was thinking that if we had a few MLKFAA Mods, we could possibly prevent a great deal of that kind of stuff. Its just a suggestion.

2 - Could we have, under the Veiw Artists page, another catagory like "10 Most Active Artists on the Forums" or something. Like, if you had like 5000 posts and were an Artist on MLKFAA, you'd be listed under there. Again, its just a suggestion.

Thoughts anyone?

I agree about the first ^^ Not that the mods and Moka don't do a fab job, however.

To your first question, yes, I believe that we should have a few more. Though the staff are doing their very best right now, so I'm willing to go wherever they do. :)

And to your second question, no offence, my dear, but it sounds like you're looking for some fame. This doesn't seem very needed to the forums and I don't see why it would help in any way, lol. *Hugs*

As far as I know (though granted I have only been a Moderator for just over a week), the main problem with regards to actually moderating the FAA is that the tools to do so are not quite there yet. If you have a look at the thread Simbdacub posted a few posts up; then it is explained in there... But basically Moka I believe is still developing the FAA and along with that includes new tools to help us to moderate it. (since he is the only administrator and only he can do that).
I will not go into too much details but moderating the FAA at the moment is a fairly cumbersome process and even then we still have to actually find and recognise something that has broken so please remember to "flag" anything you notice as breaking the rules.

However on that same note; I do think a dedicated moderator for the FAA would actually be quite a good thing. At the moment we have the admin (Moka) and 2 Global Moderators - the term global means to be moderating over the entire site. So on top of moderating he forums, and keeping an eye out on the wiki and stuff, we also have the FAA. So if we had someone dedicated specifically to the FAA it would probably help yes.

Now the 2nd point you made: Posting here on the forums is not related to the FAA and thus I do not really think that would be necessary... I mean why should someone with a lot of posts who may have only uploaded one picture (if any) get that recognition?

I suppose  I wasn't looking for any fame. I don't think I'd even be listed under there, let alone that Moka might not go through with it in the first place :?

The first point, as pretty much everyone else has stated, is an excellent suggestion but its hard to moderate if you are only a global moderator and not an administrator. As far as I know and as flip stated, the faa is still being developed. There would also be an awkwardness to it if a member who was not a moderator for some time to be given administrative abilities over the other moderators of the site.

The second suggestion I honestly think is irrelevant to the faa because it is in most ways, separate to the forum. And if you want to see how active an artist is in the forums, it states it right there on their profile.

I suppose. And if the FAA is still being developed...then okay.
