Hello other TLK Fans. I'm very very new

and I was wondering what role-playing is.

I viewed it a few times before, but I don't really have the big picture of it. Can anybody tell me what it is and about?

Well, as the name suggests, you play the role of another character in a cooperative role playing game. Any number of members can play, and they can play one or more roles in the role play, and together they tell a story by creating it one post at a time.

I think you mean "role-playing"? x)
Role-playing is a game in which two or more people act out different characters to make a story. Basically, each person has their own character (which could be made up or canon) which they "play" out and make interact with the other characters. On this forum this is done by posting a paragraph or more of what that character does/says that is relevant to the storyline. EXAMPLE: viewtopic.php?f=116&t=4520&start=40#p109456

I think Manda and Moka covered it prett much, honestly, the bestway to start is looking at making acharacter (ust look at other peoples and see what they do) then look at an RP to see what people write, then join an RP saying you are a beginer and need help.

Well, that's about it, thanks guys! I think I'll try it one time. Oh wait! I do have one more question, do the people playing have know each other so they can a agree on the names of characters and stuff? Oh and do the people who play like, PM each other before they do it to agree on which characters they are going to be and who is involved in the game?......you know what I mean?

1. No. thats the beauty of RP'ing. It alllows you to meet new people and make new friends and learn new things, and how different people interperate differnt caracters actions. To apply for a character (From the films) you just look at the RP planningsection and sy can i be xxx then if you want a reason. If you use your own character, you just say something like "I would like to join with Nakisisa (or whatever your character is called) and give a small reason why) The RP leader(s) can then accept you, deny you or ask you to change personality etc.

2. A lot of PM's are usually passed around behind the scenes if someone is asking a question about another chracters behaviour or actions etc. An R leader may sometimes also send a PM telling people when the RP has strted, if someone cant be active for a while etc. PM's are also sent about private RP plans (For in RP say two characters falling in love) Discussing about character information is normally done in the character planning thread in the RP planning area.
