[ JOIN US IN THE CIRCLE OF LIFE ]

this is a long-running TLK RP forum, with some of the friendliest members I know. I've been a member there since October 13, 2005. I'm also one of the moderators. it's #12 on the Top 50 TLK Sites (which has the outdated link). some of you may have joined this site at some point since it began in 2004, as we've had hundreds of members over the years. and every so often, we update the "version" we're on (Ulaya: Meesha's Quest, Ulaya: Pridelanders Vs. Outlanders, Ulaya: Time of the Shadowlands, Ulaya: Into the Desert, Ulaya: The Battle, Ulaya: A New Era, Ulaya: Winds of Change, Ulaya: Endless Round, Ulaya: Apocalypse, and now we're on our current version which is being polled on for the name).

I don't have time to cover our long-running plot in detail, but this basically takes place several generations after Kovu and Kiara's reign (so no cannon characters alive). there are also clans and packs besides the 2 prides (yes, the prides split again at some point before our plot began). there's the Majabali Clan who live in the mountains, they're lions whose king is the brother of the Pridelander's last queen; the Nekura are cheetahs living in a valley in the desert; the Njozi Tribe are the hyenas living in the Elephant Graveyard (yes, the hyenas are back too), and this pack needs some more characters; the Mskaji Pack are Ethiopian wolves living at the edge of the jungle; the Suricata is the colony of meerkats Timon started all those years ago, and it desperately needs some character; the Kilana Clan live in the desert in a small savanna amid the sand dunes, and it also needs some characters; the Imbeni Clan is the most recent and live in the jungle, and although it needs characters the members who started this clan are currently inactive.

now here's current our storyline:

After the devastating plague that overwhelmed the Pridelands, Outlands, and surrounding areas, Queen Amina of Pride Rock pleaded for peace between the warring prides. Amazingly, many beasts agreed, having already been forced to rely on the other prides for support while the illness spread.

Princess Lainika, angered and ashamed that her pride was no longer in her control, abandoned them and ran away, plotting to one day regain what was rightfully hers -- with help. Now with the lands healing deep wounds, another era has begun...and the king has returned.

But it sure gad got my interest. LOL The one thing that might have caught my attention the most was the meerkats. LOL! I think I am obsessed with meerkats!

revenge. For the death of her mother, and the destruction of her pride...

The King of the Pridelands has been missing for several seasons, and many
believe him to be dead. But the Queen refuses to relent to this idea, and waits
for his return. In the meanwhile, she has adopted a cub with the intent of
training him as heir... just in case. Meanwhile, the Outlanders are trying to
regroup themselves after sickness tramatized all of the neighboring prides.
Their land is as dismal as ever, especially after all of the recent death... perhaps
it is time to move on to greener lands. But they need someone to lead them...

Our roleplay takes place many generations after the famous Simba, and his
successor Kovu. But the prides have lived on, through many toils, troubles and
wars. But not only do the Pridelands and Outlands remain, but there are many
neighboring packs and clans for you to join into, as lions, hyenas, meerkats,
cheetahs, and other African animals. After all, the savannah extends past what
the movies have shown us...

Ulaya has been around since 2004, and while we have been through three
forum moves, we are back and better than ever, ready to begin a new tale of
divided treachery and loyalty. We are looking for members of all prides and
clans, and of course, rogues who have no alliance. All are welcome into our big,
happy family. We're pretty laid back, and just looking for a good time.

So cool! I'm not much of an RPer but reading through The Leaders topic and through the story is inspiring me. Maybe I'll join... I'm not to sure. Very cool site though... thanks Simba!

yes, I believe this might be the best we've done since Time of the Shadowlands. but then the rather depressing tone of posts kind of killed everyone's muse, and Into the Desert and The Battle didn't pick it up.

I just love this site so much, it's so easy to get involved in the main plot as well as countless sub-plots. I've been on there for 4 years by the username Kazani. things change, characters come and go, and that allows helps to prevent you from getting bored. you just never know what plot twist is coming next

and so far we haven't had any drama or quarrels on there. I know most sites tend to eventually, but thus far we haven't had to deal with it. all of us older members practically feel like family being on there and posting with members for so long.

I'd just like to let everyone know that although the site's had a scheduled vacation for a few months, we're now back and going strong. the layout has been updated some, we're getting back into the swing of things, and we're wanting to have as much activity as possible now. it's original characters only, we have off-topic and TLK discussion boards as well as the main RP boards, and we have a friendly bunch of pride members.

just a quick update!

we have a brand new beautiful theme (thanks to the wonderful Kat)! we're calling this one Kings and Vagabonds. currently, we're working out new ideas for our plot, and high rank positions are currently open to be played (majordomo, shaman, lead huntress, etc.). another new feature we have is our dA group: since several of our members past and present are artists.

our activity is picking up, but we still want to see some new faces enthusiastic about keeping up an active rp. so stop by and take a look around. if you're thinking about joining, I recommend reading all the topics in the Mandatory Reading section to make sure you understand everything before getting started.
