I think Scar/Taka was always unwanted by his parents. They already had Mufasa, who they had chosen to be the next king, and thus they didn't care about Scar because he wasn't as important. It's pretty sad to think about =(

Yes it is. I always think of Uru as loving Scar/Taka far more than Ahadi ever did.

What I find interesting (as I look through a Baby Name book, *hoping* that my husband and I soon get pregnant) is that Taka is listed as a girl's name in Japanese. It means "honored."

I actually liked the idea of Scar having a "real" name and that it changed once her got his scar and all. I just think that having Boma give it to him was kind of a cop-out in a way. I kinda wanted to see that maybe Mufasa gave it to him when Taka attacked him one day or something like that. Not because of a stupid plot to make Mufasa look bad that backfired.

I also like the name Scar better than Taka, but it makes perfect sense to me that Scar would not be his given name. So for that reason even though I prefer the name Scar I have nothing against the name Taka. As for what Taka means, I've always just assumed that a name's definition in the language of animals is different that the definition of the same name in any human language.
