Kiara was just about to take Mila up on her offer when she noticed Kovu finally returning now, causing Kiara to smile and lean over as best she could to give her beloved mate an affectionate nuzzle and lick over his furry, brown cheek before she responded in a playful voice.
”Hmm, I was starting to think that you might have gotten scared off by the prospects of being a father now Honey. I’m glad that you’re back though.”[/b[
Kiara giggled from the way Amanda was formally introducing the slumbering young cub to Kovu, gazing at her mate with a tender stare as she spoke up once more.
[b]”Well, until we learn her real name, that’s what I’ve been calling her Honey. Speaking of which, can you please take her for a moment. I need to answer the call of nature. Been waiting for someone to hold her.”
Seeing as the sudden reality of nature’s beckoning call had returned with a vengeance, Kiara didn’t wait for a response from her mate, rather, she gently picked up the snoozing cub and carefully placed her atop her mate’s warm, furry chest, seeing as he was already comfortably positioned from the way he had flopped himself down upon the cool den floor.
”Thanks Honey. I’ll be back in a jiffy.” Kiara stated, rising to her paws quickly and bounding straight out of the den.

Simba was making his way right towards the promontory of Pride Rock just as he spotted his daughter dashing in the opposite direction to where he was now heading. Lucky for the king, his mind was set more so upon the thought of filling his belly, instead of inquiring about where his daughter was off to in such a hurry. This fact also detoured the king from confronting Vitani and Daxis. Once the king’s mind was set on supper, there was no changing it. As Simba entered the main den, he spotted Kovu with the young cub atop his chest, making the king smile as he walked further into the den, stopping to give Amanda a playful ruffle of his fore paw atop the lively cub’s head as he spoke.
”So, I hope that new lion’s actions didn’t ruin your day there little Amanda. From the looks of things, I’d say you’re still having as much fun as you always seem to have.”
Simba walked over and gave Mila a friendly nuzzle as he addressed her as well.
”I take it you got that water for the new young cub there Mila. Thank you so much. I’m so proud to have such a helpful lioness in my pride such as you Sweetie.”
Taking a seat across the den from where Kovu was laying, Simba let out a tired yawn as he spoke to Kovu now.
”So, how’s fatherhood treating you thus far Kovu?”
Simba waited for a response from the younger male as his eyes watched the den entrance anxiously. It was apparent that the king was anticipating the return of the hunting party as a low grumble emanated from within the hungry king’s belly.
