Kovu ran as fast as he could to the river. The king extended his paw to Uzuri. "Take my paw!" he instructed.

Shia dunked underwater, she went under Uzuri and started lifting her up, with all her might. Making only small progress.

When Uzuri didn't take hold of his paw, Kovu dunked his head into the river, pulled the cub out and set her on the dry ground. He then looked at his children angrily. "Who did this?" he asked.

Durba shied away, scared that he would get in trouble. He looked over at Nguvu's face, he was so angry. Durba had a feeling Nguvu was going to tell on him.

Nguvu was so mad he could barely articulate words. "Durba!" he spat, then walked away into the shallow grass.

Durba looked up at his. "Dad.....", "I'm sor" Durba added but Kovu cut hin off too soon.

"How could you be so foolish?! Uzuri could have died!" Kovu said.

"Dad, I didn't know she couldn't swim!" Durba said frantically. All of sudden, Nguvu came out of the bushes. "WHY DID YOU TELL ON ME!" Durba shouted. Durba pounced on Nguvu and began to fight with him. Kovu looked at his sons in shock.

It took Kovu only a moment to recover from his shock. He then roared to get his sons' attention. When he had it, he continued speaking. "Durba, I want you to apologize to Uzuri and to Nguvu. Then, when we get home, I want you to apologize to Uzuri's mother. I'm also going to have a talk with your mother tonight to determine a suitable punishment," he stated.

Uzuri gazed up at Kovu. " It wasn't his fault, really.." she gasped, finally able to catch her breath, "I..I should have told him
I couldn't swim."
