Relocated [PRIVATE: SnowyCheetah and TheWhistlerify]

The only thing Dakari was paying attention to the entire time was Mbali. He kept making sure that she was always right next to him and was pretty much following her instead of the cheetah. He was so frozen when they finally arrived that he only noticed the den in the ground when Mbali entered. Without hesitating he quickly walked inside as well, before letting out a huge sigh of relief.

Mbali let go of Snowy's tail and sat down, unable to feel her limbs, ears, nose or tail. It was rather awkward sitting down on paws she could not feel, but she managed. Snowy breathed a sigh of relief as he laid down, breathing heavily. While his webbed paws helped keep him from sinking into the snow, they were a pain to lift out when too cold to move, meaning his paws acted like snow shovels with every step. He was finally growing warm enough to close his toes at this point.

"Welcome to my den." he said to the lions, "You're free to stay here as long as you wish."

Now that they were hidden from the storm, Dakari took a good look at the cheetah. His appearance made it seem like something that would be mistaken for a lioness from a distance, but his voice made it clear that he was a male. Also his appearence and behaviour showed that he was not a lion. And now that he could also hear him, there were so many questions he wanted answers to. "What kind of wasteland is this?" maybe the cheetah could help by telling them how he is able to survive in such a place.

Snowy looked back to Dakari, noticing a prolonged stare from the lion and the accompanying lioness as they looked him over. The snow cheetah was equally intrugued by the pair, having never seen any creatures like them. It didn't cross his mind that their short fur was working to their disadvantage, but he could tell they weren't doing well on their own. "This... this place has no name." he replied with a slightly rough voice that hadn't been used for a long time. "You two didn't look like you were doing very well here. What's the matter?" he asked.

"We're new here." Mbali spoke up. "We were both taken from our homes and put here together for reasons unknown. Up until that... white thing happened again, we were alright save for lack of food or water."

Dakari, despite being in a much warmer place, still found himself shaking because of the effects of the blizzard. The first thing he noticed about the cheetah was his much longer fur, which obviously made dealing with the cold alot more easy for him. Unlike Snowy, the only thing that was somehow helping Dakari stay warm was his mane, and Mbali was probably having an even harder time when it came to the heavy storms. He had so many questions for the cheetah who had probably just saved their lives, but he didn't know where to start. "Thank you for your help." he said, before looking at Mbali and feeling slightly relieved now that her shivering was gone.

"You're welcome." Snowy replied. "As for the food and water situation for the both of you, we'll have to wait until the storm is past before going outside again. In the meantime, we'd all best get some rest."

Mbali couldn't have agreed more, almost instantly plopping her chin onto her forepaws and falling asleep, purring as she was once again in a warm place. Snowy did the same, not paying attention to Dakari, assuming that he would also go to sleep.

Dakari was kind of quiet while Snowy and Mbali settled down and fell asleep. He might have been in an underground den, which was much warmer and cozier than the outside, but he could still hear the storm running wild outside. It caused him to realise that he and Mbali could have been still freezing to death outside if it wasn't for the cheetah. It also meant that they'd have to memorize the locations of dens like this one in case they were ever caught in the middle of a storm again. Feeling exhausted after everything that had happened to him today, starting from his relocation and up to that moment, Dakari placed his head down and went to sleep.

The sun had set by the time Mbali woke, and the storm had subsided. She climbed straight up through the icy tunnel that led back outside and looked around. The sky looked much the same as what she had seen at night back home. The stars and the moon; however, the constellations she saw were different. As one of the more civilized and intelligent lion prides, Mbali and her family had taken the time to recognize the constellations in the sky and, sometimes, use them for navigation when scent, sight and sound failed them. She saw some of the same constellations, but they were hardly in the same places of the sky. They did, however, give her a relative idea of where home was.

"Dakiri," she shouted softly into the hole, trying not to wake Snowy. "Look what I've found!"

After what must have been a few hours, Dakari woke up as Mbali called for him. It took him a few moments to realise what was going on, but he slowly got to his feet and walked over to Mbali so that he could see what she was talking about. Once he got to her side, he took a few seconds to look outside. He was relieved to see that the storm has ended, but he couldn't see what exactly did Mbali find. "Ah..." he said, still trying to catch sight of what she was talking about, "What did you find?" he asked, confused, "I can't really see anything special around here..."

Mbali giggled a bit as Dakari missed what was so obvious to her. Nuzzling him gently, she pointed to the sky with one paw briefly. I don't know about you, but back in my pride, we used the stars in the sky to navigate sometimes. Like when scents, sounds and sense of touch didn't help. It worked quite well. I don't see any of the same star patterns... except one, that I always saw back home. It used to be directly above our pride sometimes at midnight. I think we can use that to tell the general direction our home is in.
