Marini tried suggesting something. "Maybe we don't give it to anyone? We can be just a pride without a king?" as she talked she played with his mane using one of her paws, trying to somehow distract him.

Mufalfa however kept talking, "Yeah I mean I guess but someone has to be a leader to lead the pride. That is why I gave a title to Dakari."

Marini said, "What if we decide that nobody leads? We can be a group that just sticks together." she pushed Mufalfa onto his side and lay down next to him. She started nuzzling and licking him again.

Mufalfa finally gave in and just put aside the silly thoughts and questions and again nipped Marini's ears.

Marini purred at the contact. For all she cared, they could just stay there and live that moment again and again for the rest of her lives.

Mufalfa then said to Marini's statement, "I'll lead." A few seconds later his emotions took over and soon the light of day was peering through the tunnel. Mufalfa let out a yawn.

Marini usually was a heavy sleeper, but for some reason she woke up before Mufalfa did. When she noticed her mate was awake, she smiled and nuzzled his mane.

Mufalfa smiled back but then said, "We better get back before everyone suspects something." He quickly got out and headed towards the others.

Marini headed back with Mufalfa, and was relieved to see that no one was awake, meaning that in their point of view, she and Mufalfa hadn't even gone anywhere last night. She smiled at Mufalfa but said nothing.

Mufalfa smiled at her and was still licking her neck and nipping her ears after they went towards the others. "I never wanted that moment to end 'Rini."
