Kopa

SBS has a point. But I think when people don't like what they see, they change it to suit themselves. TLK is set in stone, nothing outside it is canon. But people like to make up their own theories and stories based on every piece of information they come across. I don't think many people actually care if it's canon or not most of the time. I for one prefer to use my own characters and not let other people have them, or use them because I have my own beliefs about how they act. If I was say roleplaying a canon character of TLK I would feel restricted about the ways I can roleplay said character, you know? Some people prefer to roleplay characters that they like, or make up stories regarding them that sometimes don't actually fit with the original story. People are like that. People chose to be what they be, and chose their beliefs and attidute, no matter what you say people will believe what they want. I'm not saying your trying to change them, I'm just saying that while you prefer facts, some people prefer their own theories.

And My characters usually have nothing to do with TLK. I don't think any of my OC's live in the Pridelands or anything like that. Some of them were born in the outlands, and one of them ended up in the Pridelands due to roleplay etc.

I don't include my own characters in my theories, though, lol. The only ones from the comics I think are canon are Kopa, Ahadi and Uru, and maybe Mohatu. Possibly Kula, but she ay have been just a background lioness.

darius, please, it wasn't an essay. If you don't want to read my posts, just don't read them. No need to yell at me. Those who are interested in my long posts, may read them if they wish. Besides, only the three first lines of my previous post were ones I'd said before. The rest was pretty much new.
I think I'd be a lot better if you cut down your posts a little bit. You don't need to make 3 pages of the same exact statement stated 50 times. Seriously, some of us have medical problems, so some people seriously can't read that long of posts, and maybe they still want to read it, but it's hard to keep attention of 5 quotes, with 4 surrounding paragraphs from you. :)

It's just a suggestion though, no offense dude. But it's a lot easier to read if you do a few paragraphs, over 10 of them. :)

No, I don't either. Some people might, but I mean that most folk would make up characters to be Scar and Mufasa's parents etc. Since 6NA isn't canon, you know? I would. But I don't have any theories, tbh. I like the comic characters, don't get me wrong. I just don't really place them with the movies.

And yeah, you seriously need to tone it down a tad SBS. At first it was interesting, then it was a bit funny, now it's getting a bit hard to read them all without getting bored after reading the same thing once again...

You said it. 'Most of the time'. But the point is that at some point, everyone cares. In order to give every single fan a fair chance to start from the scratch with their own theories, the line between personal canons and the official canon should remain clear. Because sadly there are so many people in the world who blindly believe everything they read from any random site, without checking an official source.
I'm not saying your trying to change them, I'm just saying that while you prefer facts, some people prefer their own theories.
And I'm nowhere near the only one who prefers facts in this fandom and is interested in what exactly is officialy canon. And if the facts aren't allowed to be discussed / kept alive / kept on the surface among the fan theories... it's really gonna be away from those who prefer the facts.

I think there's also a problem in how some fans go about saying their theories make sense and when someone points out by a fact or by and intellectual argument that it doesn't make sense, it's a bloody offense. It's really weird because by saying their theories make sense, they're practically saying that they want them to make sense and when it's pointed out they don't make sense... shouldn't they be rather 'oh, then I need to rethink this' instead of ' YOU #@!%)X%!/ dream killer shut up I don't wanna hear it!!" o.O
:?

PS. Alright, I try to cut down my posts.

Waan't it Snowy Cheetah that made the 'Dream Killer' avatar? You two were in one heated battle...

The only reason I really support Kopa as cannon is partly because: A. I DO NOT LIKE KIARA (Proving Jirani's point that if people don't like what they see, they change it to suite them) B: Because it would make sense in the movie's plot. It would make sense if he were there, and it would make sense if he had never existed. And I support Uru and Ahadi as cannon because, again, the plot would still make sense if they were added, and it would still make sense if they had never been created. I support comic characters who would fit into the plot.

Another little detail I just thought of is that they can't show every detail of Simba and any other character's life in the movie, so perhaps the comics show what happened... "behind the scenes."

I never said you were the only one who prefers facts. And as for the 'most of the time' part, I meant the people who don't actually look up what's canon and whats not - The people who just believe everything they hear/see etc. It's unbelieveable the amount of Kopa is canon vids on the internet spreading false truths, telling people 'He's the son of Simba but Zira killed him/kidnapped him'. If I had a proper theory, I'd aleast accept the facts.

And LL Has a dencent point. If they could fit into the storyline and not make a difference then it's a valid reason to belive they're canon. Then again, those events couldn't possibly be what happened behind the scenes because someone else created them, not Disney or the TLK creators.

Yes he he *leaves*
Okay heres my current statements.
1. The avatar was made when i was bored, it was made not to offend, upset or discriminate. Just to poke fun.
2. I dont address SC as a dream killer. Or a %$£"£^% dream killer. I attualy quite like him
3. There are only a few ways Kopa can be proper canon. If the creators wrote a book about him or he was in a film
4. Canon makes me think about Cannons

The Disney creators didn't stop to think about what happened behind the scenes, so I guess they kind of left that up to us. And I do support Zira killing Kopa to make some room for Kovu, but if enough flaws in that common theory are pointed out I'll reconsider. I can't really find anything too invalid with it :P
