When I look this scene, I'm thinking that it's the deepest dialogue I've ever heard, and right after I'm like: MOST EPIC SCENE EVER IN A MOVIE :-o

Makes me sadder than his death and gives me goosebumps. I occasionally watch that scene for no reason.

It actually makes me feel quite bad/angry when I see that scene get parodied. It had so much emotion and energy in it, it deserves to be respected, not to be made fun of. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am sure that is is the only Disney movie where and adult, male character can be seeing visibly crying. And I'm not even talking about right before Simba meets Rafiki, where he sniffles a little, but with Mufasa's ghost, Simba's eyes actually water, and you can see the emotion on his face. This is the first time Simba saw Mufasa since the stampede, and Mufasa is actually speaking to his son again.

A truly epic scene. And in my pinion, to make fun of it is to insult it. Yes, I am looking at you, TLK 1.5.

It's not just that; it's the whole realization of what's going to happen next that makes the scene epic. It's the turning point of the war going on within Simba's mind. This scene is what sparks the rebirth of the true Simba, the Simba that died after the stampede. And now you know he's going home to kick some grass. To make things right. To take his place in the circle of life.

You can just feel the sheer power of it, I really can't describe it in words. This is what life is really all about, and all that energy is built up to this point, and released in a time frame of less than 30 seconds. Although I've seen it too many times for the scene to have much of an effect on me now, the first time I saw this, not only were my own eyes watering with my jaw wide open, but if I wasn't sitting in a chair my knees would have totally collapsed to the ground.

This is the point where TLK makes the jump from really good, to the best movie I've ever seen by far. Only the ending of Empire Strikes Back can compete on such a level, and even then, it's no contest.

Nothing I have posted above is an exaggeration in any way. I'm totally serious. I wouldn't even be exaggerating if I said that it would be impossible to over-exaggerate, when discussing the intensity of the meaning within this scene.
