Here is one of two new characters that might appear in a possible sequel to "Out of the Pridelands".

Name: Kas'im
Species: Black-backed jackal
Gender: Male
Group: his adoptive pack
Personality: Exceedingly loyal and kind, though a bit hotheaded.
Description: Reddish-brown fur with silver and black fur on his back.
Other: Kas'im was born right around the same time as Kopa and the white lioness Sheba were. As a newborn, his parents died of disease. It was then that the pup was found and adopted by a pack of African wild dogs. As he grew, he befriended a female wild dog pup named Luna. They were inseparable, and as they became adolescents, they developed crushes on one another. It was also around this time that they met and befriended Kopa and Sheba. Kas'im is loyal and friendly, but also a bit of a hothead, which occasionally gets him in trouble with bigger animals.
