No, we have no idea. In the audio commentary, the directors said "they avoided the subject (Simba returning to the Pridelands to become king) for a long time." So, I'll say it was more than an afternoon.

Yes, that's true. We also don't see exactly what happened between those scenes. I mean, Simba falls on top of Nala, the look, the smile, fade to another scene. That scene could be in another night. We don't know what happened between those two scenes.

I just have to get this off my chest. Forgive me if this is off-topic. Remember earlier when I said this is something I really care about, the Simba/Nala concept. I`m dead serious when I say that it would take a lot of strength for me to utter the sentence "Simba and Nala are worthy one another". I`m not insane or anything, it`s just a very touchy subject for me.

I know a girl who can`t say the word "love", because it`s a word that ewokes powerful emotions for her, and something she very much longs for. She`s a perfectly normal girl, though. And it`s the same thing with me. It would take a lot of courage to talk to someone about how passionate I am about this.

Just to get on-topic, "they couldn`t help it" sounds the most right. You can`t force yourself to fall in love with someone.

I think they wren't in love the first time just friends trying to recollect lost time. But it seems during the CYFTLT was where their friendship evolved.
