Dakari would have probably passed out because of the coldness of the snow, but his mane helped keeping his stuck-in-the-snow head warm enough. After a few seconds, he managed to free his head, and now that the snow was right next to him, he managed to get off the ice and back onto a thing he could actually walk on. He looked over at Mbali, "Well, I suppose I could try." he then took some distance, before running and jumping again, which sooned turned out to be a bad idea as he slid over gave Mbali a rather hard push, "Sorry!" he soon noticed that it helped Mbali reach the snow. He, however, was now the one stuck in the middle. "Don't worry about me," he started while trying to stand up, "I'll make it soon enough."

Mbali giggled a bit, getting to her feet again now that she was on treadable ground again. "See what I mean, now?" she said, watching as the lion's paws slid out from under him as the ice made it impossible to walk. She backed up, took a run, and leapt onto the ice. Sliding across the slick surface, she hit him and held onto him, as the two of them slowly slid to the edge where Dakari could get onto the snow and pull Mbali the rest of the way on. "Let's not go onto that again..." she said, sweeping a paw across the cold surface and wondering how on earth anything could be so slippery. "I've slipped in mud before but... that's like nothing I've ever heard of."

As Mbali did exactly like he had done, Dakari couldn't help but feel like an idiot for not thinking of hanging on to her instead of remaining stuck in the middle of the ice. The moment they were by the snow, Dakari carefully stood and then got on the less slippery ground. "Why not? It was fun." he then heard her comment about the mud and added with a grin, "You gotta love mud." he then remembered the reason they came there in the first place. "Anyways, since there's definitely no food on that, we should probably look somewhere else."

"Haha... mud is a pain. It's either slippery, or sticky... but in any case we must indeed find food." she looked to the side and saw what looked like a cliff. "Let's go look over there." she said, running up to it, and suddenly sliding to a stop, her front toes hanging over the edge of what looked like a thousand-foot drop. "Whoa..." she said in awe, looking down the vertical wall she was standing on top of. Below, there was what looked like a river - a running river! "I bet there are fish down there!" she exclaimed to Dakari. "It's dangerous but... I think it's our only hope."

Without waiting for an objection she slowly went over the edge and, as expected, lost her footing and began to slide down the wall. Instead of stopping at the river she went into an ice tunnel, sliding through thousands of feet of passageways and probably miles of them, before coming to rest at the bottom of a waterfall.

Dakari laughed and then said, "Well duh, that's what makes it fun!" he then fell silent again and followed the lioness towards the cliff. He once again felt like they got really lucky when they've found the river. "There's got to be fish... Whatever it was that made that tunnel, it must be feeding on something as well." he then thought about how they were going to get down, when suddenly, or so it seemed to him, Mbali fell down the cliff.

He got worried, before standing at the edge and noticing her slide down, before dissapearing into what seemed to be a tunnel. Without thinking twice, he took the oppertunity for a ride like that and slid in the exact samae direction. His little ride was quite a long one, and he enjoyed every second of it. A few seconds after Mbali did, he also came to a stop by the waterfall, but he was still laughing. "Okay... Now that was fun." He then looked at the water and tried to see anything, but the water were too restless because of the waterfall for him to see anything at all.

"I can't see how being stuck in the mud is fun... I hate it. But here we are. There's got to be something to eat in there." she said, poking her head into the raging waters but retrieving nothing other than a mouthful of salt. Spitting it out as best she could, she grimaced. "Something terrible is in this water." she said in disgust, eating a mouthful of snow to try and get rid of the strong, strange taste in her mouth. "I guess there's nothing good in there." she said, scoffing as she walked down the river, annoyed that she'd gone all the way to the bottom of the cliff and then some, only to find useless terrible water.

Dakari also examined the water, before bringing his tongue out to taste it. As the salty, unpleasent taste reached him, he immediatly spat it all out and began licking the snow untill the taste was gone. "Maybe there's still fish in there?" he asked, even though the answer to that was probably no. He shurgged and followed her down the river. The two walked in silent, and suddenly Dakari felt the urge to start a conversation, "So..." he however had no idea what to say.

Mbali looked back at Dakari, who apparently was trying to ease the slight awkwardness of the situation. "So..." she replied, equally at a loss for conversation topics. She could only think of her hunger, and her family. She was now in the phase where she was worrying about how worried they would be about her. While she was alive and so far unharmed, though separated from them, for all they knew she could be dead, or eaten. She also hoped dearly that the humans hadn't done anything to her family. That brought her to the subject of the lion's family. "Dakari... have you got any family?" she asked. She assumed he did, but for some reason felt the need to ask and make sure.

Dakari wasn't really surprised at Mbali's question. He himself was also qucrious about her family, but he wasn't going to ask her because she, unlike himself, had just lost her own. He's been seperated from them for quite a while now, so talking about it wasn't hard. "My family was a rather small one. It was just me, my parents and my younger sister. I got seperated from them about 4 months ago."

He then felt the urge to at least try and reassure her at the very least, "I needed some time to get over it... But it's not all that bad. I mean... A pride is familly, right? Well I didn't quite find a pride as you can see..." he hoped he was doing it properly, "The least you can do for your familly is stay alive, even if they think you're dead, and I'll help you." The lioness would obviously get over her negative emotions eventually, but he wanted to help speed the process up for her well-being.

Mbali listened with interest as Dakari told her his story. Four months didn't seem like that much time to her. Had she been in his position, she likely would have gone into a very deep depression and never been the same again. "I'm sorry... it must have been hard. If that happened to me..." a tear came to her eye once again. "I don't know what I'd do." she stopped and walked back to Dakari, nuzzling him briefly. "You're strong. You'll need that here, and Great Kings know I will too."

Recovering from her slight emotional breakdown, the lioness began her walk again, by Dakari's side.
